2012 G37 Sedan Limited Edition

The local dealership in DFW is selling a brand new (demo) G37 Limited Edition for 42k.
The internet price = MSRP 46k?
Do you think it'll be possible to drop the price a little more?
probably doing 1.9% for 36 months with good credit.

Going to the dealership tomorrow to test drive the car.

I got a better deal on a new car with no miles...so I'd pass on that deal.

How much should I try to get off the sticker price?
if he's asking for 42k, do you think it'll be possible to drop it 40k?

Unfortunately, Cali prices are better than TX prices.

What does the trucar list for your area? THAT is the price you should be shooting for NEW. A USED car should be $2-3K lower. Don't let them tell you it's new if it has more than 40 miles...it's used.

I just looked it up and that price is the SAME as out here. Why people think area matters I don't know. Print that out, and that's the new price. They signed up for that service.

41,748 on truecar
41,600 at the dealership

went to the dealership today and the sales representative offered 41,600 invoice (not including tax, title, etc) with 2 years maintenance package.
brought the car back home on an extended test drive, had 3k miles on it (demo car)
they are trying to sell it to me as 'new'
transmission also feels a bit laggy, saw the tags and the car was produced in 08/11, do you think this car had the tranny problems as the 2011 sedans?

Trucar is a NEW car. A demo is NOT new. A dealer gets credits for demos.

All modern transmissions are "Laggy" more so with a 7-speed. I had a AT with my 09 and it wasn't laggy...it just tried staying in the highest gear. AT transmissions cannot skip from 6th-2nd so there is always a delay.

A "demo" should be WAY cheaper than a new car. $179 isn't a discount.

I can't tell you what cheaper should be, but the fact that you could get a NEW, unused car for $150 more is to me a more appealing car. Sure they are throwing in some warranty, but again...if they were buying this car from an average person it wouldn't have the same value as a new car.

In the end if you feel it's a good deal..then go for it. It's a nice car (I see it on autotrader) but the asking price is 41,988 tell them it's out the door with all that stuff you said they throw in and it seems like a better deal.

I would not buy a Demo! You can order the car from TX and have it shipped for a few hundred. (uShip - The Online Shipping Marketplace - Ship Freight, Furniture, Cars or Moves)

I got my '12 G37xS for $39k just a few weeks ago. I would walk away
