What's likely the best deal this time of year ... VPP, truecar, or USAA
So I have access to VPP C plan (and a little bummed they didn't do the A plan promo for end of year). I also belong to USAA and plan to give Truecar a shot.
I'm not sure its a good idea for the dealers to see I'm asking for a deal through multiple sources, so I'm curious what might be the best deal. Should I just go VPP and keep it painless or is that really just a great starting point?

VPP is not a starting point as it is a set price from Infiniti. Although I will say Truecare tends to be a little more aggresive. USAA is generally the same thing as truecar but keep in mind those are haggle free prices, you don't negotiate from them as they do actually represent a loss generally to the dealership, it's just to move units.

VPP is a designated price that is around $1750 below invoice on a G37. Thats your best bet.
TrueCar is going to be right around invoice
So if you were elligable for VPP, it would automatically lower your payment since dealers MUST honor VPP if they find out you are eligable (In turn they get more $$) and TrueCar would be obsolete
USAA doesn't matter really
But, you can most likiley get a lower then VPP if you buy it before 12/31/11 and grind them the f*ck out if you ready to buy. Ive seen cars go for 2k below invoice.
i.e. If you were VPP, and it was still a $2,000 loser, you would be $4,000 below invoice.
Just make sure they don't rape you on the back-end in the finace office. Thats how they always make their money back

VPP is the best price, because you get all incentives PLUS VPP cash ($1,750)
Please don't request a price certificate through Truecar, USAA or other programs - it will cost the dealer $300 even if you buy a vehicle through VPP.

C plan is 1250 not 1750 which is a dealer reimbursement, not a customer one.
So lets take JN1CV6AP8CM620379 from your dealership.
MSRP 41,655
Invoice 38359
VPP C plan for pruchase 36,859
Difference of 1500 for the rebate, so it is invoice minus rebates.
Lets equate it for the 1750 (A plan/Eplan)
Invoice 38359
A plan 35,609
Difference of 2750 (1500 rebate and 1250 for vpp) So customer still never gets the full 1750 minus incentives, just not how it works.
Keep in mind thoguh that true car is location based so this can change depending on where you are, this truecar was based on bay area.
Lets take the same car with truecar.

I just purchased a G37 Sedan for my wife using a variety of data sources.
TruCar listed the price structure as follows:
Sticker: $36,200
Mkt Avg: $33,358
Invoice: $33,540
Holdback: - $724
Incentive: -$1,500
Destination: + $895
Final Price: $32,211

My car was $2700 under invoice from truecar. I don't care what the dealer gets charged. It was a good deal. If the dealer doesnt want to "lose" money on truecar...simple. They don't sign up for it.

TrueCar price assumes the dealer cash transferred as a discount to dealer, which we would do with a VPP customer. So with Truecar a discount off invoice will be $1,500 + $300, while with VPP will be $1,500 + $1,250.
