I got word the car is ready to be picked up this week. Anyone here good with numbers....

I am going the MSD route and get 9 of them. According to the numbers in my post, I know the fees have to be rolled into the lease. Total fees are $1739.69, which is disposition fee of $395, dealer doc fee of $136.19, wear and tear fee of $500 and then license and registration for $208.50. I added another $500 for the first payment that will be due, as that is what I want to pay. It could be a little lower.

Now I figured out my msd would be $600, since with the $48500 CC and putting down $1739.69, that would be a price of $46760.31. I plugged that into the formulas and come out with $409.73 for depreciation and $141.79 for my finance charge totaling $599.78. If you round to the nearest $50, that would be $600. So I have to put $5400 down for the 9 msd's at $600 a pop. My new finance charge should than be $70.89, reducing my mf from .00180 to .0009, and lower my payment from $599.78 to $522.68. I think I am going to put an additional $500 to get my payment to $491.49 per month.

Here are my numbers again

Term is 36 months and miles per year are 15000. RV is 32010 and CC is 48500 and MF is .00180.

Are the numbers I have figured above correct? The dealer is working the numbers now, but want to make sure they aren't screwing me.

Looks like I will have to cut them a check for $7639.69 since I already gave them a $500 deposit to order the car. $5400 of that I would get back, so that would be $2239.69 down. I could get away with $1239.69, but would rather put another $1000 down now, to lower my payment by more than $30 a month. Over the life of the loan, that would be $1080, so $80 return on my money for three years. With rates these days on interest accounts, not sure I could do a whole lot better.

Let me know what you guys think. The car will be registered in Louisiana.

guys, I must have figured this out all wrong, cause my payments are way off. If I do 9 security deposits and the MF is .00180, shouldn't the new MF be .0009? They gave me a MF of .00141 which doesn't seem right.

Also, they are adding the acquisition fee to the CC of $48500 bringing that to $49095. Seems I would do better paying that up front with the other fees of $304.44, which are license and registration of $144.50, processing fee of $23.75 and dealer doc fee of $136.19.

How does the security deposits affect the monthly note? I thought you just figure out how much without the MSD and then once that is rounded to the nearest $50, you multiply that by 9 and then that would lower the CC and base the note on those figures.

The finance guy said basically that the security deposit does nothing. I guess at this point I am screwed since they ordered the car for me and I can't find it anywhere else. I have the cash to part with and I planned on doing so before I discovered the MSDs. I don't want that to be a deal breaker.

You finance guy is an ***. .0009 should be your new money factor aka Net Money Factor. Your new interest rate should be 2.16%(.0009) instead of 3.38% (.00141).

MSD do really help lower your monthly payments. For example, I got my G37 coupe basic for $290 a month including tax and total drive off was $775.14. If I didn't have MSD, the monthly payment would be $344 including tax. I basically saved $1944 for a 3 year because of MSD, AND I get my money back

But, CONGRATS on your new car. I hope you enjoy it

Just got a call from the dealer, we both figured the payment wrong. Said the total for the MSD's should have been $5400, not $6300, so I told him instead of cutting a check to me and then me putting that in the bank, to use the money on my note. Lowered it from $620 to $590 per month.

I didn't see the point of me getting money back to just turn around and stick it in a bank account make .000000000000001 % and not getting anything.
