Looking at an 09 G37X sedan, with premium, Nav and clearbra on hood, side view mirrors, fenders. car is in mint, nearly showroom cond with only 9200 miles. The owner (private sale) is asking $30,000 OBO. Car is in New England. We were going to offer 29K. Is that fair? Thanks.

Pluggin in the cars info in kellys blue book gives the following numbers:

Excellent: 31,200
Good: 29,600
Fair: 27,200

If I were you, I would offer 28k and see what he/she counters with.

gave 28K a shot, but he was firm at 29. Still seems decent given the cond and mileage.

I think 29K is o.k for you but it's a good deal for him. I don't think he can get more than 26K at trade in.

looking at some of gooddeals numbers...29k is pretty high. 28k is the highest I would offer...just wait him out. If he is desperate to sell, he will take 28k. You still owe taxes on top of the amount you pay him for the vehicle.
