Experience with going over miles on a lease?

Hey guys,

I've thoroughly enjoyed my G37S over the past 3 yrs. So much so, that I've gone 20K miles over my lease. Yup, 20K miles. In retrospect I should have tried to drive less, but it was damn fun and I don't regret anything. Please guys, spare the lectures on over mileage on a lease, I'd like to keep this constructive.

Here's my question: has anyone had experience with Infiniti "eating" the miles in order to put you into a new G? I wouldn't mind leasing another G (my commute has decreased such that over mileage won't be an issue again) but it would be subject to Infiniti waiving the mileage fee.

Thanks!

When the lease was up on my G35 coupe I went over by a small amount (600 miles). When I told them I was planning to buy a G37 coupe they did, as you suggest, eat it. But I’m afraid 20K may be too much for them to absorb. However, it’s still worth a try.

I had a Benz that went 25k over and they waived it when we got a new one.

Bring it to me, I'll buy it and take it off of your hands... That is if I can get you into a new lease.

From my experience, you will get them to eat it, but they might not be as willing to give you a great deal on your next vehicle. Ultimately they have to get their money somewhere.

let scotty eat the miles. You car would most likely be sold at a auction anyways.

Any update from Pearl or Scotty? I think I'm going to be in this position in 2 years, but this was my plan all along. I actually was going to buy my car once the lease is up, but now I moved much closer to work and I think I will only be over a few thousand miles now. Hopefully the new model will be out in 2012 and I can get into one of those penalty free.

So I found a dealer that gave me a descent price for a 2010 G37S with nav, aero kit, and illuminateed kick plates (MSRP ~47500) for $40800. They won't just waive any lease fees, which for me is around $5k, but they can roll it into the new lease. Payment w out rolling the lease balance is around $440, rolling into the new lease is $557/month.
Any thoughts on this guys?

I find it' s hard to believe a dealer just eats 5k and can still give you the best lease rate out there. Dealers will make money at the end.

i hope you're a CPA b/c not every deal with make money in the end. It's just like any type of business -- plenty of overhead to encounter.

I saw this deal and what was left out... these numbers do not include tax.

I think gooddeal needs to sit on our side of the table.

I ran the numbers myself as well, it includes tax. 39 months 15k/yr.

I'm going in today to discuss this deal. This is 39 months @ 15k miles/yr.

Would like to hear some from other experienced buyers.
