currently negotiating for a 2011 G37 S Sedan

The dealer just received a 2011 S Sedan 6mt and my wife and I went in to test-drive it.

The only installed option is the midnight grill. The MSRP is $40,745 (since the Nav is standard) and the invoice at $37,635.

The GM is a nice guy but is bullsh##ing me slightly. Initially he said that they rarely sold 6mt so he only carried 1 or two a year but today he said he could only hold the car for a few days because a lot of people were inquiring about it.

We went into his office after the test drive and he said he was cutting out the negotiating and would offer the car at invoice. I mentioned the $1K incentive and the prices from USAA/Zag/Amex/Costco etc. but he said he wouldn't go lower.

This seems like a fair deal on a just-released car right? I don't mid paying a little (no more than $200) since the car is the combination that we wanted (Graphite Shadow/Graphite).

BTW we wanted to test-drive a Subaru STi so I called a couple dealer to see if a 2011 Sti was in stock. I was told that unless I was in the negotiation process to purchase one, I could not test-drive it.

Getting the car at invoice isn't bad at all for a 2011.

I bought my car with the 1k dealer cash and went below invoice, then cut into it another $300.

Any left over 2010s available?

We looked within 300 or so miles for a 2010 6MT and couldn't get one. The only one I found was a few hours away but they never called me back after I inquired about it.

But it's all good; we are going to our local dealer today to probably wrap up the deal on the 2011.

I think it is a good deal. Dealers just do not give out invoice pricing for just anyone that walks into their showrooms.

Good deal on the car. I honestly don't mind if they make some money on the car. Hopefully the service is good. Coming from BMW their sales pitch of "it's half the cost to do maintenance" was dumb and something I should have looked into more closely. Oil changes at 3700 miles? I had to fight to get them to change it to the higher schedule. My BMW went 20K and other German cars are similar in length. $50 for regular oil every few months isn't half the cost of anything.

But I do like the car

Oh and i hear you on not buying cars they don't test drive. I have a list of cars that I walked away from that I was interested in.
-Hyundai Genesis Coupe was one of them and my favorite to tell people. The BMW guy who was trying to get me in another 3-series offered to let me take an M6 down to them to show them how dumb they were.

Most Subaru dealers are morons, they think the STI is some kind of exotic. Get the G37 6MT, it's an awesome car.

Looks like you don't live in a very competitive market. If that's the case, invoice is actually pretty good. If you are an existing IFS customer, you get the $1000 loyalty + $500 lease cash I believe. Then again, I'm basing this on my market, which is more competitive.

SW Ohio is about to start getting weather that is not conducive to RWD cars with summer tires so ther isn't a big demand for the manual right now.
The dealer gets 3 or 4 manuals per season (including coupes).
I have never had an Infiniti before, trying to sell/trade-in our Nissan
We are buying, not leasing.
One Infiniti dealership in the city, about 50 miles from the next one.

no $1000 loyalty is a lease, $500 is just for cash bonus for retail.

Get a regular WRX. Its $8000 cheaper and faster then the 2010 STI. My wife drives one and its a beast. She has a 2011 and she pulled on me in every gear to 110. All that for $15k less then a G. Of course, the interior is crap.
I test drove an STI once by working the test drive into the purchase of my mother in law's forester. No test drive, no purchase....

Yea I agree about the 2011 WRX, its a beast of a car, looks pretty mean, but the interior is crap. Still a lotta car for under $30k, plus AWD with manual trans is something Infiniti still refuses to do. jerks.

^I thought Infiniti was offering the XS for 2011.

Sorry to anyone that has one, but I think the WRX/STI look like the toilet after a high school party.

Did you get the G?

My wife bought the G for our 10th . Only the S has the 6mt. The xS does not have all of the S components.
