Good deal on 2010 G37 Coupe?

I'm looking to get a 2010 G37 Journey Coupe with the following:

- Premium Package
- Sport Package
- Navigation Package

MSRP on the car is $45,935. Invoice is $42,047.

I can get the car for $39,542, before taxes/license fees. Is this a good price, or could I get an even better price?

Any help/tips would be appreciated!

Any price below invoice is a good price on a 2010. Is this with any incentives applied?

I got the same car, with VPP and $1500 incentives for $38.5.

Yes, it's with Infiniti's $1000 incentive and VPP Plan B discount. After TTL, the car comes out to near $45K. Taxes in California are a killer - nearly 10%

You got a pretty good deal on your G37. Did you have to negotiate with the dealer?

That's about right then. Taxes are same here, 9.5%. VPP is a set price, so it doesn't vary from place to place. You can even ask for the VPP printout, and it should match all your research numbers (invoice - 3.6% + Dest charge).

Unfortunately I did have to haggle a bit, and was actually angry I did. The purpose of VPP is to not have to. All the prices were right, except for a "delivery fee" of $1400 and "sealant" of $700. I had to call another dealer just to verify the first wasn't BSing me. There's a thread further down in this section about it. Ended up only paying about $700 over the bare minimum VPP deal for them to order my car and get it here before the end of the month.

It sounds like they're doing you right. It's really a great deal. Are they running another VPP B plan special, or are you an employee?

I've never heard of a "sealant" fee - sounds like some BS dealer add-on charge! I don't need to pay for any delivery fees, since the car is already here. Did you pay $38.5K including the destination charge? I'm also guessing that's not your OTD price, right? If so, that's a damn steal!

The car I'm buying also includes some factory accessories, like illuminated kickplates and a rear spoiler, so it does bump up the price a little bit. I have a VPP Plan B code, which is already in their system and ready to be applied (got it from a friend who works for Nissan).

I think I'll also try to get them down to $38.5K and see what they say...

It's actually a "warranty" type thing for the paint and interior. It's an option, but they were trying to force it on me.

No, my OTD price was closer to $44k. $38.5k was the car price minus $1500 incentive. The only accessories on my car was a Midnight Black Grille.

Just ask them for the VPP sample price calculation printout. Everything on there will match what you can expect. There's no leeway for the dealer to add on anything, except in "dealer added options". For you, this should be $0. There's no room for the dealer to knock the price down lower. It's all set calculations. Just make sure they're not tacking on extraneous fees, like mine tried.
