I don't think I will get what the payoff is though. our cars have not held their value. I got 15,000 a year. I am not going to buy another car when mine goes back. I will be going to the dealer auctions to purchase a car, so that is not an option. I will probably just end up paying the overages or try to sell the car at the end.

I don't think there's much room for negotiation. That's kind of how they get you w/ that mileage fee... ha ha

paying it off might not make any difference but is probably the obvious option, but keep in mind that the G has a pretty generous 60% residual.

but lets see

an 08 with a 60% residual, I think the 08 is worth like 22-24k now? hmmm 6.5 months left on the lease.... (250mi/wk x 26 weeks x .20 = 1300?) so add that to your lease payment of 15k + down + taxes

without doing an involved calculation it depends on what you plan to do next, another lease or what?

cause it does look like buying the car and selling it right now will (prior to the 2011 model) would net you a little more money... than had you just turned the car back in. 1300 mileage fees isn't the end of the world...

250 miles @ 26 weeks @ .20 is $1300. So lets say you owe $2k at the end. You're going to lose that not matter what...mind as well drive the car. Maybe the dealer will have a car you like. Auction cars are a roll of the dice.

Are you factoring in tax title license?

I think I did, I think the little more money is like <1000 difference between having sold it, vs turning it in with the mileage fee.

I mean if it was me, I'd say screw it, here's your fee and hope the car doesn't get dinged in the next 6 months... lol

i dont think you can negotiate the mileages on the lease...

i am on a lease too 12K/yr im on my 28month of 36month as maturity term
i currently have 44000 which is over by 8000 miles and i still have 8months to go..

luckily the lemon law settled and they are purchasing the vehicle back
mileage over was not a problem at all

i know when my ex leased a beemer a couple years ago she was able to buy extra miles @ .16 cents per, instead of the .20 cents overage fee when she returned it.
