How much should I pay for a leftover 09???
I went by the local dealer yesterday to look at the new '10 G37s and noticed that they had a few leftover 09's. The best one was a white G37S 7AT Journey with premium/nav. Sticker was $44,760. They are discounting it $7500 so the pretax price is $37,265. The hang up is that I want to lease and they won't do the $7500 discount on a lease. Their best price on a lease is $40,400 with a 55% residual and a MF of .00146.
My question is, don't you think $40,400 is still too high for a leftover 09 even if it is a lease offer? I was thinking if they offer $7500 off for a straight sale, why not for a lease? Or am I wrong there? Please help!

All markets are different.
You didn't say if its a coupe or sedan. Sedans are discounted more.
In my market, 2010 sedans can be had for hundreds over invoice. For an 09 sedan I would expect significantly under invoice or no deal. For a coupe, I would expect near invoice.

go to the VPP area of this website and get yourself a claim code # from someone named
"da Mayor."
that's a Nissan employee discount program that is good through the end of March. You should be able to get that $7500 off on a lease from that dealer.
