2010 Coupe Price

Just curious on a price. I went to have my drivers seat replaced and looked at the 2010 copes while I was there. I talked to the sales person and asked him to shoot me a price out of curiousity for a journey coupe w/ nav, premium and sport packages. He offered me 25 to 25.5K for my 08 coupe with premum, sport and spoiler w/ 28K miles.

I'm thinking more like 27 or 28 for my coupe and at least a 1k off list price.

Any opinions?

at least a 1k off list price?

...but 25.5 for your coupe is very good, IMO.

Yea the $25.5 offer is pretty good. I've been getting offered as low as $18k for my 08 G35 sedan 6MT with 22,000 miles. Private sale could be better, but he can always come down on the 10 coupe. Try your luck

I've been quoted $39,605 + ttl for a 2010 G37x Coupe with premium package. From information I'm finding on Edmunds, that appears to be $68 over invoice. In addition, the dealer then reduced that by the $3,000 pricing option which will bring my price to $36,605 + ttl. I'll be going Saturday to test drive and sign on the dotted line, although they'll have to have what I want trucked in, they don't have it in stock. Seems like a good deal to me, what do others think?

I don't know how you can get 3k under invoice plus they need to truck in. So, technically, you get about 3.5k under invoice. Don't be surprise if they tell you that price doesn't come w/ premium package.

Good luck.

Got to agree with others that $25.5k for your 28k mi. '08 coupe is pretty good. You should check out how much a brand new 2009 goes nowaday.

Yes, that comes with premium package. I have it all in writing (negotiation all day this past Saturday via email). The MSRP he quoted me was $42,625 and invoice according to Edmunds for G37x with premium package is $39,537. Their price he gave me is $39,605 (which he said was an excellent deal), which is $68 over what Edmunds says is invoice. Then, apparently right now through the end of the month they also have a $3,000 pricing option that Infiniti gives (in lieu of special financing) which he included and said reduced my sales price to $36,605. Now, perhaps that doesn't include having it trucked in - not sure. Maybe they'll charge me extra for that. If they do, so be it.

I actually didn't know about the $3,000 dealer pricing option right now, I would have been ok with the $68 over invoice.

I guess I'll find out on Saturday when I go down there to initiate the contract, but I'm gonna take everything that I have in writing and hopefully they follow through with what they've negotiated with me, as I feel it's a great deal.

Are you sure that you are not quoted a 2009 model? If so, they may be holding another $1,500 from you. I believe that the dealer cash for 2010 coupe is only $1,500, whereas for 2009's the dealer cash is $4,500.

This was their first response to me when I emailed them:

Good morning,
How have you been? Thanks for checking with us this morning regarding the G37 Coupe. Listed below is some of the information that you have requested:
2010 Infiniti G37 Coupe..all wheel drive
Premium Package
Sale Price.............................$39605

And then another later on after I questioned something about the payments:

The difference in the payment of 3.9% vs 5% is a $3000 price option that Infiniti gives us...we can give the special rate
or the $3000 price reduction. In our initial pricing we gave you the pricing option. When we quoted the payments, we used
both options to give you a choice.

Then another one after that:

The MSRP is $42,625...invoice is $39,537...thus $39605 is an excellent purchase price.
The $3000 would come off of the $39605, thus making the price $36605.

The above is copied and pasted from some of the email exchanges I had with the dealership. Never once did I ever inquire about a 2009 during the entire day when I was negotiating. I guess I'll find out Saturday when I go down there, but I definitely want the 2010 and from our communications I am under the impression that he's quoted me on exactly what I've asked for, which is a 2010 G37x Coupe with premium package. BTW, the person I did all the negotiating with via email was the Sales Manager because the internet sales person was off that day. I would hope the sales manager would know his stuff. And when I say "negotiating", I never negotiated the price of the G37 as I was happy with what they offered the first time. I only negotiated my trade.

Hmmm, I checked two sources, CarsDirect and Edmunds, and both show 2010 G37x coupe with Premium package has a MSRP of $42,915, not $42,625. However, the invoice price of $39,537 does match with Edmunds' data. I can't seem to find MSRP for the 2009 models at the moment. Maybe you or someone on this board can look it up. At any rate, better make sure before you going in.

If it is in fact a 2010 and the $36,605 price is not contingent upon getting a loan at 5% through the dealer, then I think that is a fantastic deal. You should shop around for better loan rate. Bank of America has pretty good rate right now -- 3.6%.

Good luck.

He didn't say it was contingent upon a loan through them, but I'll see what kind of rate they come up with when they shop around the loan. Thanks for the heads up about the B of A rate!

Edmunds shows an MSRP of $42,565 and Invoice of $39,209 for the 2009 G37x Coupe with premium package.

Yeah, it seem that the 42,625 is the MSRP for the 2009 x coupe w/ premium and cargo net but the invoice is 39,256

I appreciate everyone's input which has prompted me to do more looking. I will agree, it seems that all the figures the dealer has given me has to do with a 2009, from MSRP to Invoice to the $3,000 pricing option, even though I specifically requested (and he acknowledged in his first email) a 2010. I've emailed him tonight letting him know all this and will see what his response is. The figure I had from the dealer for Invoice WAS from 2009 (I was mistakenly posting the 2010 number here).

I also can't find any information online on anything greater than the $3,000 incentive, even though someone suggested $4,500 for an '09. And it does appear, too, from looking at the restrictions of the incentive that you do have to use the dealer's captive financing. I told him I have excellent credit, therefore I would expect to get a good APR for the term I'm wanting (he has suggested possibly 5%).

Anyway, I would consider the '09 if this is a better deal than I'd get for the '10. Is the deal I negotiated for what I thought was a 2010, a good deal for a 2009?

According to the GSM at a Houston dealership who frequent at another forum, current factory-to-dealer marketing supports (incentives) for G37 are as follow:

09 Sedan: Special Rates + $1000 OR $3500
09 Coupe: Special Rates + $1500 OR $4500
09 Convertible: $2000

10 Sedan: Special Rates + $500 OR $1500
10 Coupe: Special Rates OR $1500
10 Convertible: not released yet

Hope this helps.

EDIT: Forgot about your other question regarding the price --

I think you should be able to do better. This of couse depends upon regional market condition, but generally IMO a good price should be no more than $500 over invoice minus all applicable incentives. Therefore, I would offer $34,756 ($39,256 - $4,500) for 2009, or $38,037 ($39,537 - $1,500) for a 2010; this way you leave yourself a $500 range for negotiation.

Another leverage you have is that, if they in fact did mess up on the price quotes (and you have email to prove it), your opening position may be demanding them to honor the price as 2010 and let them offer you a compromise.

Good luck and let us know how it goes.
