Question G37 vert or G37S vert?? (pls vote)

Hello everyone, I am new to this forum and I need some help with a minor dilemma. I can’t decide between a G37 convertible with just Premium pkg or a G37 convertible with Premium and Sport pkgs. My dilemma is I am in warm AZ and the cooling seats would be PERFECT for when I drop the top. Unfortunately you cannot get the cooling feature with sport seats.

I am either getting an automatic transmission G37 convertible with:

Premium package, Wheel option and rear spoiler (cold seats)
Premium package, Sport package and rear spoiler (no cold seats)

Please vote and supply any information I may not be aware of, or suggestions to help me make my decision. Thanks!!

Also, is a G37 automatic tranny with Prem pkg + Sport pkg considered G37S with red S badge?

IMO the sports package is too good a package to pass even if you had to sacrifice cold seats

I'd probably go sport, even though the cooled seats would be nice in AZ.

educate me? what am i "really" missing if i don't get sport pkg?

Sport Pkg
• 19" wheels -- i can get those with the wheel option
• Sport brakes -- Infiniti calipers do look nice
• Sport-tuned steering -- can you even tell a difference??
• Unique sport front fascia -- hard to tell on a black G37
• 10-way power driver's sport seat with manual thigh extension -- rather have cold seats!
• Unique sport stitching on steering wheel and front seats -- useless
• Aluminum pedals and footrest -- easy DIY upgrade
• Solid-magnesium paddle shifters -- i would use cold seats way more then these

Sport Pkg
• 19" wheels -- i can get those with the wheel option True
• Sport brakes -- Infiniti calipers do look nice Again True
• Sport-tuned steering -- can you even tell a difference?? Yes
• Unique sport front fascia -- hard to tell on a black G37 Strongly Disagree. Still looks way better than non s on black.
• 10-way power driver's sport seat with manual thigh extension -- rather have cold seats! Just personal opinion.
• Unique sport stitching on steering wheel and front seats -- useless
• Aluminum pedals and footrest -- easy DIY upgrade
• Solid-magnesium paddle shifters -- i would use cold seats way more then these

There is also the LSD and suspension. It sounds to me like you have already made up your mind and that you would prefer the cooled seats over some other features. It's up to you what do YOU really want?

i did not see the LSD and suspension bullets on the Infiniti website, that is EXACTLY why i am here, to talk to the REAL experts. i test drove a convertible with just Premium and really enjoyed the seats. sounds like i really need to take the sport pkg G37 for a spin! i thought the car felt soft compared to my 335Ci (which is expected of a vert).

one more question, and i stated this in my OP, will i get an S badge if i go with Prem+Sport on an Automatic tranny G37 vert?

I think you assumed that the same Sport Package features from the G37 coupe were part of the convertible, according to the Infiniti website they are not:

G37 Coupe Sport Package
10-spoke 19 x 8.5-inch aluminum-alloy wheels with 225/45R19 (front) and 19 x 9.0-inch aluminum-alloy wheels with 245/40R19 (rear) W-rated summer performance tires
Sport brakes with 4-piston opposed front calipers with 14-inch rotors and 2-piston opposed rear calipers with 13.8-inch rotors
Unique front fascia and side sills
Solid-magnesium paddle shifters (not available with 6-speed manual transmission)
Front sport seats with manual thigh extension and driver's power torso and thigh support adjustment
Unique sport stitching on steering wheel and front seats
Aluminum pedals and footrest
Sport-tuned suspension
Viscous Limited-Slip Differential (VLSD)

G37 Convertible Sport Package
10-spoke 19-inch aluminum-alloy wheels with 225/45R19 (front) and 245/40R19 (rear) W-rated summer performance tires
Sport brakes with 4-piston opposed front calipers with 14-inch rotors and 2-piston opposed rear calipers with 13.8-inch rotors
Sport-tuned steering
Unique sport front fascia
10-way power driver's sport seat with manual thigh extension, including driver's power torso and thigh support adjustment; 8-way power front-passenger's sport seat (cooling feature from Premium Package deleted)
Unique sport stitching on steering wheel and front seats
Aluminum pedals and footrest
Solid-magnesium paddle shifters

Oh, ok. My bad. I didn't know the sport package on the vert was different. In that case the only real big difference is the seats and front fascia and brakes which you said you didnt mind much.also you are considering upgrading the wheels anyways. Also, if you change your mind afterwards a new front fascia isnt that hard to replace.

I have a Vert & I went with the sport package - it is a no brainer for the upgraded brakes & suspension. I too was also torn by the lack of butt chillers with the sport package (my last car had them). Quite honestly I used the seat AC in my last car very infrequently so I decided that performance over not having sweaty ***** was more important. I further justified the lack of AC in the seats by realizing that it would be highly unlikely that I would have the AC on while the top is down so the benefit greatly diminished.

I understand that this option is more important in AZ than NJ but since you asked get the sport package FTW - GO FOR IT.

the convertible doesn't have upgraded suspension as part of the sports pkg (see above). only the coupe/sedan get the stiffer suspension and VLSD within their sports pkg?

Sport Pkg
• 19" wheels -- i can get those with the wheel option I would actually go aftermarket
• Sport brakes -- Infiniti calipers do look nice It's not only about the way they look, but they grip better too
• Sport-tuned steering -- can you even tell a difference?? Definitely, steering gives you the sports car feel
• Unique sport front fascia -- hard to tell on a black G37 You are mistaken on this one, it's pretty obvious have a look around in the forums
• 10-way power driver's sport seat with manual thigh extension -- rather have cold seats! Really??? The sport seats look and feel great would never pass on those
• Unique sport stitching on steering wheel and front seats -- useless Again, does add a unique touch
• Aluminum pedals and footrest -- easy DIY upgrade True
• Solid-magnesium paddle shifters -- i would use cold seats way more then these
Props to you for researching my friend! Not a lot of people do that.

The UAE is even hotter than AZ, and yes, my lower back section does sweat on long trips but I still wouldn't give up all the nice sport additions just to cool my back. If you're the kind that sweats a lot then maybe it's worth it
