Possible to get the G37 at 30k even?
Was wondering if it's possible to obtain the '09 G (now is the time dealers are planning to clear out inventory) at 30k? This would be just a Journey Base model with no additional options. Everytime I throw the options the car becomes a 40k car; which is just ridiculously expensive (just to much money to spend on a car imo).

When I first saw this thread I thought you were referring to 2nd hand 08's. But an 09!
And trust me, $40k is nothing to spend on a G37, you should see how much the guys in Europe are paying for it and besides, have a look around at other dealers (A5, BMW335..etc) The G37 is worth every penny IMO
If you still think it's too much though, Hyundai has a Genesis Coupe that might interest you

The misconception is that all auto makers are struggling... I don't see that Infiniti Dealers are (at least those around Atlanta aren't). I know one of the sales managers pretty well at my dealer and he says they are actually have really good months recently and haven't really been impacted by the economic downturn over the past 18 months.

I test drove the G35, G37 '08, '09, BMW 335i, Audi A5,Accord Coupe V6, Altima Coupe and Hyundai Genesis. The Genesis 3.8 is actually pretty quick, but the fit and finish is no where near as nice as the above named (although it didn't have the luxury package on it). The Genesis actually 'felt' faster than the G35, and possibly the A5. It just makes more sense to me to pay a few thousand to get the infiniti, plus the resale will be better in the long run so it's a wash. Probably the 335i is the fastest and had nice handling, but to be honest, the new 7AT w/ sport comes up pretty close to the 335i (which says a lot being na). Although there is something unique about the way a BMW drives, and no car I've ever drove had that same feel. Even though not really the same category, the Accord coupe was pretty nice for a FWD car (comes with a stock strut bar). Sadly the Altima Coupe with the CVT was complete crap (although I've heard good things with the manual) major torque oversteer. The A5 is probably the best overall car, due to looks and build quality, but it's heavy and not the fastest. It's unfortunate because when you start going over the 30k mark, it becomes really expensive to finance (especially because I don't have any value for a trade in).

It sounds like the earlier suggestion to consider a Genesis is a pretty good suggestion as the OP does not really want to buy a more than $30K car and the G is most definitely a more than $30K car.

Hi everyone. Just helped my girlfriend buy her new G37. Just wanted to share my info in case it helps anyone. I'm happy with the deal but I think if I was willing to sit for another hour or two at the dealership I might have been able to bring it down another hundred or two. Anyway here goes:
G37 Journey Blue Slate
Options: Premium, Nav
Accessories: Splash guards, cargo net, wheel locks
Out the door price: $37600
The car was purchased in Carlsbad, CA. I think when the OP says $30k even he means the price before tax and license cause that sounds pretty impossible with tax. Even before tax it would be amazing to get that deal.
