Some dealers prey on those with bad credit, because people with bad credit are often OK with MSRP as long as they get approved for financing. Don't be 1 of them, negotiate the price of the car to invoice or near invoice (you can get invoice info on Edmunds.com or Kelly Blue Book's website). If you can put that much $ down, approval won't be hard (they factor in that you're almost paying the entire car upfront, despite your credit history).

I don't understand why credit is a problem. I was pricing out a 2009 G37 Sport 6MT with Premium Package and it came out to $33500 market sale price on a brand new car. Why would credit matter unless if you're financing? If you could put $40000 down why are you financing?

But more importantly, is it wise to buy a luxury car when you know you're credit is bad already?

$33500 for a 2009 G37 Sport 6MT with Premium? The best I can come to that is $37000, where did you get ur price quote from?

I would like to know where you quote your price too? I'm in the market for a 2009 G37S coupe with premium package. Is your $33500 out the door or is tax not included yet?

I checked edmunds.com and a '09 G37S coupe w/ premium package is invoiced at $34,181 + $2770 (premium package) + $865 (destination charge) = $37,816. Minus the $2500 incentive going on right now till 6/30. That's $35,316 + tax (8.75%) = $38,406. Is that the price I should be aiming for Out the door? Or can I get it lower? Your quoted price of $33500 is 5k less than my calculated OTD and 2k less than my pre-tax calculation. Am I doing something wrong?
