G37 as next car or no?

I just turned 20 and I've had my 04' Camry for about 4 years now and it's starting to show some bad signs. My dad wants to get a G37 as my next car. I know I'm young and all that stuff, I love that car and I'm definitely a huge Nissan/Infiniti enthusiast, but somehow I think it's too much for a 20 year old and on top of that, insurance is high. But I've always wanted a G37 because seeing other people younger than me driving and cruising around it makes me get all jealous. My dad gave me other options like the new Audi A4 or the new Camaro. I'm a drummer as well and I need space so I'll most probably fix and keep the Camry as a daily driver. So what do you guys think? Is it a good time to buy a car now or should I just wait a little while?

well i don't know it depends on a lot of things... are you financing it yourself or are your parents helping you pay for it? is it a financially feasible decision? if you drum i don't think you'll have much space to carry around stuff in the G... the trunk is unreasonably small as compared to others imo... what's wrong with the camry? 04 and already having problems?

In my very honest opinion, not knowing you at all, I think that the 370z might be better suited for you. However, age really has nothing to do with it. I am 24 and love my G. Although most people my age only dream of owning this car. I am highly into sports cars, however, the G is more of a classy sports car. The payments are not cheap either if you are planning on purchasing it yourself. I got a high interest rate, but lucky for me, my insurance actually went down since I am a girl and am over 23. The new 370z is going to have almost all the features of the G but without the classy edge but rather a real showstopper car. As a drummer, assuming that you are always into the "scene", I think the 370z would be more of what you are looking for, especially if you really want to pick up the chicks. Not to say that you wont get chicks in the G, but most girls that you are prob into dont know the difference anyways, so therefore the z is much more aggressive looking.

I could be wrong, though. Just my opinion. The new camaro would definitely be hot too cause I cant wait for it either. But with that, you are definitely setting yourself up for stereotype. Of course, who knows if it will even come out since GM might be bankrupt. I wouldnt recommend the Audi though. Too expensive and German.

If you think you can handle the car, then get it. IMO age means nothing, people who are 30 could act more like a kid then you do. Just be careful the first few months you have the car, you need to get used to driving RWD after having a FWD car.

different type of girl is all I meant. If you want to pick up a real girl then go with the G37, cause if she knows what it is then you have a keeper. If you want a girl that just wants you for your car no matter what the driver looks like then go with the Z.

The difference in RWD/FWD is not that big. The only time it matters is in bad weather (snow/ice/rain) and if you are goofing off.

It does take some getting used to, I went from a Navigator to my G35. The extra power + RWD took some getting used to, I put the car into a ditch about a month after I got it in the rain .

You can get away with a lot in a FWD that you can't in a RWD.

I will only say this...Get it now while you are young and try as much as you can in life, because you only have one! Moreover if you are not paying for it, even better. But be a responsible person.

Good luck!

Thanks guys! Well, I did mess around with the Z my dad bought when I was back in Asia for summer so I pretty much have some experience with RWD cars. Personally, I love the 350Z than the 370Z. But my dad, brother and I love cars and we've all come down to the G37 because of its power, looks and that class. Of course we're all drooling over the GT-R, but thanks to the dealer's mark up prices, it's ridiculous. There's really no problem with my Camry, just the brakes and some minor problems which can be fixed. But then again, I do commute to school for about 30 to 40 mins everyday and work too so I definitely need a "crappy" everyday driving car to do all these especially when I drive my drums around. But insurance is driving me nuts. I'm just waiting for a white or red G to drop till about $31 to $29 then I'll probably go for it. As far as chicks go like Heat mentioned, no, I already have a girlfriend haha!
