Financing Questions and Purchase Suggestion
Hey all-
So I see there is quite a following here, and after test driving an 09 G37 this past weekend, I can see why. I MUST have this car!
I was hoping that the group can help me with some questions so I can get the car I want.
I am thinking of purchasing the 08 model to take advantage of the $4000 factory rebate (without financing through Infiniti). Does anyone know how long this promition will last? How do you use this in addition to securing a good deal from the dealer?
I am looking at purchasing an 08 Journey in the Obsidian Black color. AT with the Prem, Nav, and Sport packages. Any idea the prices I should be expecting? I am located in San Francisco if that helps???
I also need some financing guidance. I have limited credit history - just graduated from college - around 650 credit FICO score. I have secure employment and make ~$50k/annual. Where should I be looking for credit in this tough credit market? Any suggestion on a down payment? I can afford ~$3000 right now, but if wait until February (tax return!!) I can probably come up with ~$10k.
I would love some help from those with experience or any guidance. And I promise to let everyone know how my purchase goes once I pull the trigger.
Thanks all
-Ken

aim for mid-low 30s. more $ down helps your payment obviously but i dont like tying up a lot of $ if i can afford the payments. go with the lowest rate and longest plan to keep it down.

If you want a new G, with your circumstances (location + salary) you should probably aim for a lease b/c of the lower payment or wait until next year when you can put more down.

Thanks for the responses guys.
I am not interested in leasing...plus I travel for work so I would go over mileage allowed on leases.
Anyways, I can afford a ~ $700/month payment, but just not sure if I will qualify anywhere right now given the credit crunch.
Keng- in your experiences, how does the Signature Graduate program work? Do you think it will help me in my situation?

Based on what I am told, just bring your copy of your diploma when you go to the dealer. It's suppose to make you easier to qualify for the loan to build customer based. Personally I haven't use it because I haven't bought a G yet...lol

Yickes! $700 a month...I pay around that much for my G and my wife's TSX right now. You may need a letter from your employer stating your salary and such. I did the "college graduate" program with BMWFS and thats what I had to do. Altho, I had a fico of around 730+ so that in itself pretty much qualified me for tier 1.
