Help with trade and purchase
Hi guys I've been hounding this forum for quite a while now. I've finally made up my made to wait for the 09 G37 Coupe AWD ( I live in snowy area ...)
I have a loaded 07 Camry V6 SE. I checked Kelly Blue Book and it said I should get 19-20k if I trade it in? It's in excellent condition with 22k miles soon.
My question is how does this work? I'm not done paying off the car... I heard I can still trade it in? How much you think I'll get?
When will we know the pricing for 09? I hope it's near the same as 08's and just 2-3 grand more for AWD like most cars.
Help me out, thanks.

Well how much do you owe? Usually the dealer buys your car and pays it off to the bank that holds the title to your vehicle and then gives you the difference. So let's say you owe 15k and the dealership gives you 20k for the car, then you end up with 5k in your pocket. Make sense?
And don't expect to get KBB excellent condition pricing for your trade-in. That's really inaccurate and no dealer will give you that.

Just play hard ball. I was able to get KBB "good" condition value for my trade in which was about $800 less than the "excellent" condition value. Don't let those dealership guys sucker you into giving up your trade for dirt cheap. Be prepare to walk out if necessary.

I traded in my '07 FJ Cruiser, which I've had for 2 years, for the G37. I still had a $19K balance for it when I traded it in. It had 23K miles on it, excellent condition and the dealer just paid off my $19K balance. KBB price for the car was at $21K.
Just to give you an idea.
