You have to take into account interest on his used car loan. If you assume 6% interest, that would mean he financed $23,500 to get his $435/mo for 72 mo. Over the course of the 72 month loan he'll pay approximately $31,000 ($7500 in interest). Add in the $9000 he put down on the car, brings him to $40k over all cost of ownership, not including the sales tax of about $2k. Actual sale price should have been 23,500+9000 = 32,500. Got to love interest.

That's what my thought was, 6% seems high to me, I got under 4% with my last car (WRX). Seems to me with so many dealers offering 0.9% APR for 60 months on 08's it's a better move to just pick up one of those $1000 or so below invoice, you'd probably come out about the same....right?

OK, guys need your advice!
I went and test drove a G37 today and loved it! but here is the lease that was offered:
08 G37 coupe journey with premium only, free set of snow tires (for us up here in Cleveland), 15k miles, 39 months
MSRP: 39665
Selling price: 34852
MF: 0.00156
Acq fee: 595
TTL: 350
Monthly PMT: $457
Total due: $1448
Orrrr there was a blue slate journey/prem one with Navi package that was very impressive but monthly was $530 mo with $880 due.
ADVICE PLEEEEASEEEE...I have a G6 GT coupe whose lease is due in 3 weeks so i have to make a decision soon.
I have been looking at buying a used G35 for about $400 mo but absolutely love the G37!
Thanks guys

So my opinion is get a Premium,Nav,Sports.
With 1500$ drive off, your payment should not be more than 530$ with 12k miles/year and 39 mos

The interest rate is 6% through the credit union. The car was listed at $36,988. I talked them down to $33,200. With the tax, tags, etc. it came up to around $35,000. I put down $9,000 making the amount financed $26,000. I thought about going new and going for the 0.9% but the amount financed would still be a lot higher. I always pay my cars off early. Either way aside from the interest on the loan, I don't feel like the dealership robbed me. The car has only 5,000 miles on it and is fully loaded for $33k. Kbb is $39k

Is this a good deal? I am trying to work it to $37,000 Does the $2000 marketing cash count towards a lease...I know it doesn't for the 0.0% or 0.9%
