G37 Demo Price 3,000 - need advice
Invoice price is 37,450. The car had 3,000 miles on it. I told them that they should deduct .15/mile (450 dollars) because thats about how much they charge on lease overage. So I offered 37,000 for the car. The dealer said no. They wanted to sell me a car with less miles because they think they can convince some uninformed consumer to purchase it at higher. They said they lost hold back on that car because they had to trade it from a nearby dealer (same owner).....
The car was black exterior/stone interior. There was black scuff marks on the inside door that they said they would clean. The car wasnt even listed in their inventory, we found it on the lot.
Was my offer fair? 3,000 is a lot of mileage for a new car!
Should I call the higher ups at the dealership?
Should I just move on and get a new car with less miles but pay more?

I wouldn't do it if it were me. Because there'd be a possibility that I end up regretting it (if something happens), whenever I see it, it's not a new car. But I know I won't regret it if I paid for to buy a new car. Just me though.......

See...most of you think you're paying 500 below invoice but then you pay 400 doc fees, 300 dealer/ad fees and quickly the car is back up to 200 over invoice.
When we were haggling we already agreed to no doc fees etc. The sales guy had no other outs to make profit.
So im hesitant to believe you guys when you say you got 500 below.

Agreed - 3K miles is a lot of miles. If you purchased the car new and drove it for several months (putting on 3K miles) and went back to trade it in...just imagine how much (little) they would give you (proabably 20 - 23% off MSRP). This is where I would begin the negotiations.
Some would consider this a used car. I would step up and pay a few extra dollars for a brand new car. Many owners on this forum are paying invoice for their G37's; with less than 10 miles. Just my $0.02 worth.
Before I leased my G37S; I went to a competitive manufacturer and looked at a model A (names have been changed). I called and made an appointment to come down and look at one of three. The first one they showed me had over 150 miles. I noticed what looked like rubbing compound residue on the door and window seams (I thought I saw buffer swirl marks in the paint). My spider sense was tingling big time...I moved on and never looked back. My point - be an informed buyer and good luck.

Please look at the big picture guys, not just the car price.

I dont see 500 below..i doubt they only made a 100 on you...
Im only giving them 1.5% profit on my sale. Well outside the fair 3-5% range.
