Buy Now or Wait for the '09

Hey all,

I was wondering if I should actively pursue the G now, or wait for the '09's to roll out. I know the '09's will offer a convertible, but anything else worth waiting for? (Not interested in the convertible). I do need a new car because my current mode of transportation is pushing 130k miles.

Also, completely off topic, how hard would it be to install remote start? And do any of the members here have it?

Thanks.

It's kind of late in the game. The '09 might be worth the wait. No official release details about the '09 as of yet. More rumors than anything else (self-healing paint, 7At, maybe better voice SW for Nav, etc). Even if you don't get an '09, you could probably get a sweet deal on an '08 should you wait for the '09 release. Sometime around September is the last word I heard form my Infinity dealership rep about the '09 release.

For remote start, you would need a third keyfob unless you don't want to have an extra then you could use the second one that comes with the car. You can order one from the dealership but I'm not sure of the costs for one.

Wait for the '09 if you;re gonna wait anyway, if you're not in need of it right now just wait until the '09 comes out, they will probably resolve all of the problems ie: exhaust rattle and stuff like that. Thats what im doin.

Wait for the 09 to come out, then buy the 08.

i say wait, the 09 is a couple of months away, so just wait for that. some of the things will get fix like the exhaust rattle.

Big problem with the '08. Hopefully it's fixed in the '09.

wait for the rumored 500whp TT 2010

otherwise, buy the '08 upon the '09 release.

exhaust rattle will always get warrentied. if it is fixed in 09 then their warrenty part is a 09 exhaust for an 08 model. i used to work there. the only things to look for would be the price difference with the 08 vs 09 model, the
7at and nav update.

I was in the same "dilemma" as you 4 weeks ago. But I'm an impatient dude so I went ahead and pulled the trigger. I'm assuming there won't be much difference between '08 and '09. Don't need or have Nav in mine so I could care less for the rumored Nav improvements. Exhaust rattle, I haven't experienced it on mine.

As for me; I'll wait till '10 or '11 when they'll most certainly have the 7A and other goodies....of course; I might change my mind after the test drive on Friday 5/9.........

agreed.

Does anyone know if they're gonna be pulling off some of the standard items (i.e. brakes, etc) that came on the 6mt? Didn't they do that with the G35c and the Brembos after the first year or two?

Wait for the 09 or if you want a really good deal, just get an 08 when the 09 comes out.

Wait for the 13 to come out, then buy an 08. You'll save at least 60 percent!!!

Or just do as everyone else said above.
