One Pay Lease question, please help?!?

I just wanted to run this by all you well informed forum members I was set up to do a one-pay lease on my new g37. I didn't talk them down on the price of the car, so that was my first mistake. Basically, with the one-pay lease amount + the risidual of 29826, If i wanted the car after 24 months I'd be paying something like 51,250 fot it It seemed like a very good deal/fit for my situation, but after driving the car for a week, and running the actual numbers of the deal, I realized I'm gonna want this baby more than 24 months, I'm gonna mod it, and I'm not gonna pay over 50k to do so! Now here's where things get interesting. The dealership didn't have a one-pay lease contract, nor did they know who I was supposed to make the check out to, them or IFS. Basically they called me and said sometime this next week, when they get a contract, I need to come sign it and make a new check out to them. So right now, after 10 days of having the car, I've neither paid them, nor signed a contract. i did sign all the other B.S. but nothing when it comes to the numbers. I was really thinking about just going down there and using my large one-pay lease amount as a down payment and negotiating the price of the car down a couple grand, and then just financing the remainder so I'd be an owner, and not in a lease. Your thoughts???

How in the world any dealership allowed someone to have a car for 1 day let alone 10 without signing anything is beyond me...Call them back and say you want to finance it instead...If you plan on buying it then use that ONE pay as a huge downpayment...A 48 or 60 month term should yield rather affordable monthly payments if your down payment is as big as I think it is...

FYI - You can just give the car back and walk away if you never signed anything...

Everyone even after sigining things has 3 days to change their minds...I'm almost positive about that...

Not in California. There is no "cooling off period".

Ok, here's is what happened. I went into the dealership because they called about finally signing the contract. I went in and told them I didn't want to lease, but to purchase the car. The sales manager told me I couldn't purchase the car, because I signed a lease agreement, and if I wanted to own the car, I would have to pay the residual, making the out the door price about 51250. I told him to eat a d!*k. I hadn't signed anything, they hadn't taken any money from me, and I would get a taxi and be on my way. He blew a gasket when he heard I hadn't signed anything and had been driving the car for 11 days. I think he might have fired the finance guy I was dealing with. Anyways, I just laid it out for him. I got the car for 39,000, Invoice on it was 38,420. I paid for the lex clear bra, free maintenance for 3 yrs, 5 yrs of paintless dent repair, plus all the tax, title, doc fees, etc... I left paying them a hair over 45k for everything, so now I'm an owner, not a leaser The sales manager basically told me this was the least amount of power he had ever had in a negotiation, seeing as they weren't gonna lose a deal, I'd been driving the car for free putting miles on it, and hadn't signed a damn thing. I feel like I got damn lucky, but am proud to say I own my black beauty now, and will proceed with modding the HELL outta it in everyway I see fit!

Wow, congrats...Couldn't have worked out any better...I knew someone would be fired for allowing you to drive that car without anything being signed...Welcome to the OB dark side
