Can the LEASE experts make sense of this for me?

First off, the dealership got me to sign off on a credit check. They wanted a deposit to hold the car but I told them no as I need to sell my vehicle before I move forward. But they congratulated me as I left and made a copy of my insurance and registration for my current car. I should have asked more quetions, but any reason for all this? Just preparing themselves for if I decide to move forward? Sorry for my ignorance but I'm VERY new to leasing. I own my current G35. Ok and after that question is answered here are the numbers they gave me a printout of. Someone please please tell me what they think! I have no idea what anything means.

MSRP = $42,450
Gross Capitalized Cost = $39,000
Cap Cost reduction = $250
Aquisition Fee = $595
Security Deposits = $4,500
Liscense Fee = $138
TOTAL at drive off = $6000
Residual = $30,438
Depreciation = $8,312
Rent = $1,727
TOTAL BASE PAYMENTS = $10,039
24 MONTHS
15K MILES PER MONTH

Monthly with tax included = $454

1. I didn't lease this car yet right? LMAO...They made me feel that way when I was leaving.

2. Please make sense of these numbers to let me know whether or not I got a good deal.

I was originally going with 39 month but changed my mind...Thanks

Why do you have to pay so much in security deposits?

He's probably doing MSD's which are Multiple Security Deposits..each Security Deposit you put down, it reduces the Money Factor...its an excellent way to reduce payments.

Yea so I thought! Seems like many dont agree...

Anyone know whats important about the cap cost reduction or what my money factor is?

And I have NO IDEA what "rent" means...

Rent charge is the interest paid back to IFS during the lease term, that's all.

Otherwise, your deal looks good overall. You'll get your MSDs back at the end of the term, however with no interest paid on those deposits. All your MSDs are doing is buying down your money factor, therefore your paying less in interest.

Thanks Dave...I was hoping you would post as you seem rather knowledgable on leases...I'm sure its getting old for you trying to confirm whether or not people got a good or raw deal...I was hoping this was a decent deal and I've had no experiences with MSD's or a lease for that matter in the past...I made a big mistake of negotiating monthly rather then invoice price...Which is why I was worried that MAYBE I didn't get a good offer...So you think everything is legit and a rather solid deal? Should I continue to shop around?

Sounds decent man. I just got what may be a final offer from my dealer over here: $4600 down ($3000 in MSD's and $1600 for 1st payment and fees)
$445/mth

VR/wheat premium with illum kickplates.

Looks good bud...And remember its really only $1600 down since most if not ALL of that $3000 in MSD's will be yours at lease end...At that point you can either use that cash towards the purchase of the lease, take that same 3k and put it towards an MSD on a new lease...Or just take the cash and run!

What was the final price? And what was invoice for ya?

I'd have to look for the papers, but off the top of the cabeza I was getting the car at invoice. After getting compared to the other dealers, the salesguy just said eff it and came back with this, lol.
Have final #'s for ya later.

Want this car so bad I can taste it. I'm going to the dealership today to lick some cars...

I'm a sales manager, so I should know a thing or two about leases!

Take the deal; what's really the point with grinding for another buck or two in payment. Work with your local dealer and they'll know they will see you again in their service department again.

The cap cost reduction is a down payment that reduces your monthly payment. What is the $250? You're being taxed on it this way.

I think your MF is .001 or 2.4%

38750 + 30438=69188 x 24 = 1660512
1727/1660512=.001

The rent fee is the total amount that you'll spend during the course of your lease on finance charges.

But 69188 x .001=69.19 a month
1727 is 71.96 a month

Do the MSDs affect your net cap cost?

Also ask for a breakdown of your 1500 inception fees. I think they are inflated $100-200ish.
