Q: buy in WA or CA + shipping?
hi all, and thanks in advance for any advice.
i'll get to the point straight away:
i am going to move to seattle in mid april and i plan to purchase a g37 upon my move.
through the research so far,
- CA (soCal) has more vehicles to choose from unless ordering (i might not be correct)
- shipping is about 1200 +/-, however a hassle. i have not done a shipping before, and i've only heard that it can be PIA
- sales tax is a little cheaper in CA.
however, these care my hypothetical research, and mainly from he/she said info.
i am also planning to finance the vehicle too.
if price difference is not all that great, i would buy it in seattle,
but if they are a world apart, i would buy it here and ship it later.
by looking at some used vehicle prices,
socal seems to have lower price.
for example,
for 30k, seattle => 2006 g35 with 20k miles
socal => 2007 g35 10k miles.
again, not too sure of new car prices though.
thanks for reading and again, for any advice,
jason

I live in the Seattle area and I just bought my G37 from Cerritos infinity in SoCal. There are only 2 dealerships up here, owned by the same guy, and tend not to deal much. I saved over 2k by buying out of state - and that is including shipping up here.
I would get it down there - like you said, more selection and cheaper prices.

When I did my deal (all by Internet) It was between the 3 dealers in WA & the 1 in OR. (Beaverton/OR best price point I could get @ the time)
If you do a little searching on this board, you will find much that's already been posted that should be helpful.
It's been 5 months since I ordered mine (& things may have changed...though seriously doubt it) but I expect taking advantage of the competition in CA (29 stealerships?) would make it well worth getting the car there & driving it up. Good luck
My .5 cents

I had a pretty good buying experience here in the Seattle area - but I also got VPP pricing.
Talking to the dealer it seemed like they'd be able to get a car with any options I wanted - it was just about how long would I be willing to wait. All of the cars on the lots up here have premium, most had Nav, a few with tech. splash guards, cargo nets, trunk mats were also on every car, and spoilers were rare.
What brings you up north?

I am graduating in mid March and I have a job there starting in mid April ![Smilie](https://www.myg37.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
and
I am not good at negotiating or waiting T.T
plus, it seems like there are more cars (variety in terms of color and options) in here in socal.
i am debating btw getting this vs wait for like 10 months and getting a new 350z.
