I think I'm screwed.

I just got back from the dealership with some numbers on the G37 Sport. I currently drive an '06 G35 Coupe and pay $439 a month with $1400 down based off a $38k pricetag (12k miles a year). I know the G37 just came out, but I wasn't expecting the price my salesman threw at me. He based it off of a $40k model and originally said $628 and my jaw hit the floor. Then he ran rates for another bank and came back with $589, which still floored me. Both of those quotes were for 10k miles a year. My lease is ending in September and now have no idea what I'm going to do. I really don't want to leave the G family, but I don't think I have a choice. What do you guys think? Am I SOL?

Sounds like crappy lease terms or money hidden in the cap cost to me...

These are the base lease rates from Infiniti for August on the G37

2008 Infiniti G37 Coupe
24 Month – Residual 72% of MSRP – .00285 Base Rate
36 Month – Residual 61% of MSRP – .00285 Base Rate
48 Month – Residual 51% of MSRP – .00285 Base Rate
60 Month – Residual 43% of MSRP – .00295 Base Rate

2008 Infiniti G37 Sport Coupe
24 Month – Residual 74% of MSRP – .00285 Base Rate
36 Month – Residual 62% of MSRP – .00285 Base Rate
48 Month – Residual 52% of MSRP – .00285 Base Rate
60 Month – Residual 44% of MSRP – .00295 Base Rate

You should insist on these.

can we still drop multiple security deposits in order to lower the money factor? I remember reading somewhere that Infiniti allows you do place 9 security deposits, each one lowering your money factor by .00010. Can anyone confirm?

Do any of you guys have any additional quotes? I have an offer from a dealer for a journey, with prem and nav. for 41,995. 3,500 total otd. at 612 per mo. plus tax. this is a 24 month lease or I can do a 39 month lease for 570 a month.

I am going to cross check with other dealers tomorrow. If any of you can disclose your lease numbers that would be great for all of us.

You have to know your cap cost, money factor and residual % to know what kind of deal you're getting. If you don't know that, and your dealer does, pretty good chance you could and should be getting a better deal.

Is this with taxes included? Or just down payment plus first month?

i'll be honest with you -- everyone got spoiled by the old rates of the Infiniti models -- especially w/ older sedan clients moving $100-$150 more per month for the '07 G's.... thats the market.... same goes for myself looking for a home... i can't go back and say , hey you paid $400k for it, i want to buy it at $400k not $700k

unfortunately infiniti is moving upstream and the leases will do so as well... i will say it'll probably have lower leases later on but not where everyone was paying for 12 month leases

Thanks everyone! I guess my only option right now, is to extend my lease month to month until something comes along. The best deal I've seen so far, came from leasecompare.com @ $490 for 4 years I believe.

quote is 612 per month plus tax. First month is already included in the 3500 otd cost.

Car: Sport 6MT w/ Prem. Pkg., rear spoiler, splash guards, illuminated kickplates, and trunk mat/cargo net.

Quote: $40,695 MSRP; 39 months, 12,000 miles/yr, $5,000 down including taxes, etc., $600/mo.

My salesman did not tell me the money factor or residual. I had to leave and asked him to call/email me with them. He said he would, but has not.

I will follow up with him again, but I was a little disappointed with the treatment after he realized I wasn't going to put a deposit down. I think he thought he had an easy sale and that I would just pay whatever since I own an '04 and since I was so eager to see the car and drive it. This was even more annoying because he expected me to put money down on a 6MT after only driving a base...not likely.
