Wait are you seriously saying the 7AT has any benefit or pros to it vs the 6MT?!

I just thought the 7AT has a notorious rep for being sluggish, non-responsive, quirky, jerky, and just all around awkward and not dialed in very well.... so much that if I ever need to swap transmissions, why wouldn't I just put in factory 6MT? Actually, I'm thinking about doing it even if I don't NEED a new transmission at this point because even BRAND NEW the price of a 6MT is pretty affordable... not to mention used. Then could put money I'd have spent on a valve body for the 7AT towards upgraded clutch/flywheel etc and not only would I have a more reliable and sporty/fun manual transmission, but it'd be a lot stronger and able to handle being beat on.

yeah the 7at sucks. I had a 2010 G37xS before my current 2008 G35xS and the 5at in the G35 is so much better. The G35 feels faster than the G37 in everyday driving as a result. Just so much more usable power from a trans that is much more intuitive

They are OEM, a dealer option that's quite pricey. I scored a brand new set from someone parting off for 1/2 off so it was worth it to me for fitment and quality.

This looks right, however I didn't use the Q50 A,B,C pillars- for the B I used a QX70 one and trimmed it to fit. May try the Q50 ones down the road. My A/B/C pillars are the G37s that I reupholstered in suede. Don't forget the Q60 Sunroof handle in your parts list either.

Sorry for the unrelated post Deepan.

It really all depends on your goals with the car. It's been proven that the auto doesnt suffer as much of a power loss as many automatics do. The sluggishness issue is due to wanting more out of Drive mode but in all reality you shift your own gears and life will be fine. The auto offers "S-mode" which is throttle blip similar to the 370z, I know this is not as significant as a manual car however after flashing my vehicle I lost this ability in the first map I had and it does change the way the person can drive.

No matter what you do you will never replace the feeling of an extra gear, the new Z will add to this perspective by having 3 additional gears than it's manual transmission trim.

So if what you're after is the manual control and feeling connected to the car go with M/T.
For a multipurpose vehicle that needs to zip around, go hard off the line and have a decent cruise go with Auto.

The VHR is just too slow under 3k RPM, 3k rpm is trombone zone. Living in half city and half highway I spend half of that time getting on the highway, past 5-6 lights. In the city, 1-3rd gear are the ones that help navigate without much RPM. In the Highway 3rd gear is a beast, outside of that you cruise in 7th. Using the same 3.6 diff in a manual you'd make a killer off the line car, taking about pulling 2 cars vs a MT car with the same mods.
Problems with auto is lack of feeling, autonomous shifting issues and some gears feel like they would have been better if they were closer together.
No M/T owner wants to hear electronics are faster than them but it's a reality that it's acceptance is just ego related.
I still enjoy the M/T and it's the only one that connects me fully to the car, Nothing will replace it. Neither will be multiple gears on the fly at the touch of your hands.
