Like where your grille project's going, have spare OEM grille to do the same (more or less)

Question: how flimsy is the grille with all the middle slats cut out? Figured it'd lose lots of rigidity without them, guess putting the mesh in their place would help.

The plastic is pretty thick so it is pretty solid. I don't think it twisted on me once and I was wailing on it with a dremel and lots of high force sanding.

Ordered my 4.083 gears yesterday and they should be here today. Now to decide if it is really worth it to upgrade the LSD at the same time...

I looked into that one, but Spencer said it would probably be a disaster in the snow. Not so sure about changing the LSD. Entertaining the idea, but leaning towards keeping the factory unit right now. A few days of hard driving without VDC are in the works to be certain.

I imagine the LSD would be fine in the snow. From what I understand the Quaife only works on acceleration so it's not like you will get lift off oversteer. As long as you have good tires on you should be fine, and it will be so much better in the dry/wet.

I want a Quaife but I'm going to save that purchase for my next car.

Any explanation into why it would be a disaster in the snow? I've been speaking with Spencer on a clutch type for an upcoming build. Being in Chicago, I usually drive with VDC off in the snow and would like more lock under power.

Haha! Yeah I use it a lot more often than I thought so it is easy access this way. I am definitely organized. My wife thinks it is funny to go into my tool box and turn a wrench the other way to see if I will notice.

I have worked with so many technicians who have all their tools in a pile and then wonder why every job takes so long. This way I know where everything is and can fly through projects. That optional pegboard back for this Craftsman workbench is awesome. So much easier to find the right tool when they it is right in front of your face.

Funny you should ask. I was talking to Russ at Z1 about this today and he didn't think it would be an issue. So I literally just e-mailed Spencer to ask him about the diff in the snow again.
