Tonight I tore the entire interior down to bare metal. I think another one of the beads somehow got into a hole and is under the metal floor board. I tried using two different vacuums, but no dice. I am going to see if one of my techs has a small camera with a light to try to see something. Maybe I can flood the space with white lithium to keep anything from moving around and making noise almost every time I corner.

Snake Cameras for the phone are relatively inexpensive.

Thanks for the idea. I think I might also be able to melt the sealer for a plug underneath and get them out that way too.

Well, that idea didn't work either. Looks like I might try to MacGyver it out with wire and duct tape

My MacGyver trick worked! I found a whole bunch of junk rolling around in the steel support that the rear of the driver's seat mounts to. Finally, no more noisy cornering!!!

For your own sanity I'm glad you found it. I really do admire your dedication. Not many people would tear the car apart completely to find that.

Well, I was already pretty crazy, but I am definitely glad that my car no longer sounds like a pinball machine when I go around a corner. And that is what I am most thankful for this Thanksgiving.

Today I started stage 1 of re-sealing the rust plug I took out in an attempt to locate the rattling.

Stage 2 in sealing up the rust plug yesterday. Not terribly exciting, but the end to the months long rattle hunt.

Easy enough to spray the rust proofing, but it took forever to dry. The bottle claimed it dried in 10 minutes, but that is probably at the recommended 70 degrees. My garage was in the mid 50's and even overnight it did not dry. So I brought in a tiny space heater and put a fan inside the car and underneath and the spots dried in a few hours. I waited a few days and did another coat. That thing should be sealed up for good now.

Getting back on the subject of fun performance mods, I am starting to think of adding gauges so I can keep an eye on things like oil temp, coolant temp, rear differential temp, exhaust gas temp, etc. I see that conceptzperformance carries a lot of gauges and an A-pillar gauge that is listed to fit, but really for a 300ZX, so not sure if it would work for my car. Or is there some sort of computer I could get that can tap into the car's reading of at least the oil and coolant temps?

Let me know if you have mounted gauges in your car and where they are located or if you figured out a computer option to do the same. Thanks!

Have you looked into the zadatech gauges? You can get everything on one display. Lot more clean. There was a thread here on this forum and also by carbonsignal on the 370z forums. Look it up.

Thanks for the idea. I did a quick google search and see that they are a UK company. I think you are talking about the 4.3" screen. Cool idea to have all the info in one screen and it doesn't look terribly expensive. Now just the issue of where to mount it. Hmm...

I see they also make a digital dashboard like in the new Audis. Now that would be awesome if you could get all that info. on the dash, but I think it only includes water temp. Probably not too many takers on that for $2k pounds to show the same info. as stock.

I haven't looked at what settings are available via OBD, but if the main ones you want are you could do this with a bluetooth OBD adapter and a cheap android tablet running torque and have it all done for under $150 probably.

Check out the threads here by user g37sam . He had installed it in the sunglasses holder . Also see carbon signal thread on the370z for Moreno info on these gauges.
