Rochester's new G

Like any mod, it all depends on the technique and the severity of the alteration. Too cheap or too much, and things get worse, not better. It's a simple truism that applies to a whole range of topics.
As for lowing the sedan, I don't care... because my G is perfect right where it is. The wheel gap is relatively uniform when the car is level, and that's where I want it.
I've spent the last few years over at Maxima.org, and there are yahoos over there cutting springs and rolling fenders with a baseball bat.

Rochester, just like you I have the 37S which does sit at a nice factory height but for the guys with the X...I can see why they want it 1"-2" lower. I had an X, lowered it 1" and immediately felt less roll and it did look better IMO.
I'm not crazy about the slammed look. It has to remain a practical daily driver for 4 seasons.
No spring cutting either. That's just wrong. I can't recall ever reading here or over on g35driver, anyone saying they cut or wanted to cut there springs. I suppose one wouldn't admit it if they did.

Does the AWD 7AT sit higher than my RWD 6MT? I didn't know that.

Looking nice, looks like you're taking great care of it. If you're happy w/ the ride height that's all that matters, if you don't go bigger w/ the wheels it's all good, 19's & 20s and that gap really stands out, but the 18s look good in there. Also like rpm&my_G35 mentioned, a lowered car w/ a lot of winter weather is a tough mix

It's going to be stock for quite a while, with only minor cosmetic changes. And it won't get lowered for many years to come. When that does happen... coilovers and new rims. Until then, OEM 18's. And snow tires 5 months out of the year.

Thanks! I was looking for a 2009 in Lakeshore Slate, but when this 2011 in Moonlight White crossed my path, I jumped on it. I've had a number of white cars in the past, and love white... there's something classy and calming about it.

Rochester, glad to see you stuck with Nissan's powerful 4 door equipped with a manual tranmission. I've enjoyed reading your posts on maxima.org for some time. I too followed this path with my 09 G37S 6MT. I'm also coming from a 5.5 Gen 6MT Maxima.
I like the look of the 4DSC sticker on the window. I have that on the Maxima. I also have a personalized license plate that says the same thing, and I'm considering putting that or "VQ37VHR" on the G. Depends in how long I plan on keeping the Maxima.
I like the revised styling of the 2010+ G's mostly for the fog lights. Im not crazy for the new grille. If you didnt know, the 2009 is the only year that's a cross between the 07-08 35's and 10-12 37's. I have the 3.7, but no revised styling, except the heated seat ***** instead of switches. Can anyone shed more light on this?
Anyway, glad to see I'm still in the same community as you, with your surprisingly smooth wits, and colorful adjectives. Lol.

how bad their gas mileage is
Regularly get 25-26mpg on my commute. 23-24mpg if I decide to go full throttle on every stop sign, red light, on ramp, etc.
What amazes me is how poor the gas mileage is for cars that aren't our car (I'm looking at your EPA ratings honda fit, cr-v, toyota matrix, scion xb etc etc).
