These tires are on top of my list. I intend to buy tires from Costco (Lifetime warranty replacement ) but they don't carry the continentals. Also the updated PSS are also out i believe (PS4S). We'll just have to see ....

Had some spirited driving this morning, with an eye to how the car behaves with new Contis at the rear. TC off, a number of hard lauches, a few aggressive highway ramps... essentially driving it loudly to the point where it would spin or lose grip, but remain just on this side of stupid.
...and I got nothing to report.
These tires seem neither better nor worse than the PSS. I'm sure someone who tracks this car (like 4DRZ) would have opinions about subtle differences, but for the life of me, I don't know what they are.
Take that with a grain of salt, because these are just the rears.

The only true test would be to go side-by-side with installs of new tires from each brand.
And yes, they aren't broken in yet. Need at least 500 miles for that.

That's the least of reasons why it's not going to happen. However, I'm sure there will be lots of tire reviews putting the Conti head-2-head with the PS4S.
AFAIK, the PSS are already discontinued in favor of the new PS4S. I wouldn't be surprised if retail outlets are discounting remaining inventory.

Some time back I came to realize the taupe colored trim around the 3rd brake light would look better in black, because you can see it through the rectangular cut-out in the rear window tint. So today I took the back seat apart, removed the trim, painted it and re-installed.

Looks good. Any pics of the painted part installed.
I recall back when you mentioned that your 3rd brake light was taupe color that I was surprised that I hadn't noticed it on my car. But after a closer look at my car I realized when I had my windows tinted they tinted the entire rear window (i.e. no cutout for the brake light) so you can't even tell I have a taupe 3rd brake light housing... Funny the things that you don't even notice or realize about your own car.

Maybe I am missing something here, but this forum allows you to post up pics right from your computer rather than having to host them elsewhere and post up the link here. I really like this about this site. Much easier to post pics- unlike nasioc, M3forum and evolutionm.

Ideally I'd stick w/ the same fronts when the time comes, and those new improved sidewall inserts on the Contis seem to have addressed any of the previous shortcomings they had.
Also being as detail oriented as you are John, having a mixed set just seems out of place in your case, lol.
