I had Hawk HPS on my old car and loved them. No noise, EXCELLENT grip, and i DID track on them several times without major issues. A little bit of brake fade toward the end of the sessions but nothing severe. Just changed the fluid after and used them for another 30k miles until i traded the car in. Even then the fronts were practically new and the rears were around 25-30%
I have a buddy that picked up the HP+, these are definitely track pads and work best when HOT. With that said, they are not great in an emergency when just driving around town.
