Parking brake shoes with sports brake
Hi guys,
Long time reader, first time poster. I just changed my rear rotors/pads on my 2009 G37 MT. The parking brake shoes were pretty worn-out and they don't hold the car much. I've looked at the dealership and the kit is about 900$. I'm wondering if they're the same as the regular brakes or if any of you had any luck sourcing them elsewhere than at the dealer?
Thanks for your help!

Never. What kit did you price?
The OEM shoes alone are only ≈$100-125 depending on vendor and I doubt the springs and the star adjusters (if they need replacement) are ≈$800. Something is off there. Aftermarket prices can be even lower depending on brand.
What brand pads/ rotors did you just install? Check to see if that brand has a kit? I can check for OEM but will need more info.

I should have mentionned I have the sports brakes. Just called the dealer and the shoes with all hardware was 900 CAD. I see a bunch of cheap shoes on Rock Auto and generic parts store, but they seem to be for the standard brakes. Im not sure if the sports brake have a different PN?

Here is what I found as far as OEM is concerned. Their kit includes EVERYTHING related to the parking brake assembly: shoes, retainers, adjuster, anchor block, backing plate, everything. Checking prices from Japan:
Left/Rear: p/n: 44010-EG06B and runs ≈$212.USD.
Right/Rear: p/n: 44000-JL06B and also runs ≈$212.
Shipping should run less than $50 if I were to guess.
Costs will be different because you are in Canada. Admittedly, I am clueless there.
If it were me, I would just source a quality set with hardware from Rockauto, Amazon, or the like and call it a day. The parking brake assembly is the same whether you have the sport or base brake package.

That's the bit of information I was not able to find,if the non-sport shoes fit the sport rotors. Seems like they do and if the case, there's plenty of options as you highlighted. Thanks a lot!
