Small drop springs for G37S Sedan
So, I'm trying to find a set of springs that would give me about 1 inch of drop front and back. The springs must meet the following requirements:
Another thing that I would like to know is, can I align the car back to spec after dropping it an inch with stock parts? I would really like to avoid unnecessary spending, if possible.
So far from my own search, Swift springs fit that bill, but I remember reading someone's review, and they mentioned that the car had more oversteer after the install, which is the last thing I want, since the car already has so much oversteer.
Also, if someone knows the stock spring rates, that would be great too. I can't seem to find anything at all on that.
- Ride well
- Linear Spring Rate
- Similar or better grip balance to OEM (hopefully more rear traction)

I have sedan springs on my coupe. The thing is, the springs don't know if they're installed on a coupe or a sedan. The spring rates are a bit different but either application will fit on both cars. I chose sedan springs because of the slightly softer spring rate. They are fantastic, much better than the coil overs I had before.

Oh I'm very well aware that the coils are probably the same inside diameter. My biggest concern is that this car has a serious balance issue. The rear is too stiff, and that's what's causing the car to oversteer. If you look at end spring rates, you'll see that coupe springs are more rear biased than sedan, creating a stiffer rear roll center, and making oversteer problem even worse. The seller wants 200, plus shipping and PayPal fees. For mere 90 dollars more, I can have a brand new kit shipped, which is specific to the chassis.

I don't think they'd increase any oversteer tendency, and if so it would only be very slight. But I can't say for sure because I have the Hotchkis front and rear way bars that the previous poster recommended and they were installed prior to the springs. The ability to stiffen or soften the roll stiffness to dial in the handling characteristic you want (looser or tighter) is great.
Or if you feel the car is really loose now, you might try just the stiffer front bar. That will tighten it up if that's what you want.

As far as the larger front bar only, that's going to be my plan exactly. One of my friends is running a 370Z in GTA, and that's what he did to balance the car. As the car sits, it's extremely tail happy. The front end traction is great, but I'm used to a LOT more rear grip than this. I'm hoping the balance change, and greater stagger will help that. Planning on running 245s in front and 275s in rear.
