G37 IPL/Sport front calliper removal issue

Anyone had problems removing the 22mm bolts holding the callipers on to the mounting bracket?

Tried to get them off last night and was lifting the car off the jack stands.

Thanks

Carl

Somebody mentioned on the 370Z forums that he needed a three-foot cheater to break those bolts loose. Only once in my 40 years of wrenching have I needed that much leverage to loosen anything on a car.

After I struggled over 30 minutes to remove one caliper bolt, with a foot long pipe over the end of the ratchet, I finally had enough and bought an impact wrench with 475 foot-lbs of torque and removed all the other bolts (both front calipers) at 3 seconds/each. Moreover, removing a wheel takes less than 30 seconds without hurrying. A good impact wrench is one of the best things you can have in your tool box.

Use the ultimate rust breaker, a 50/50 mix of ATF & Acetone, soak 24 hrs and you'll have that bolt off w/ no more than a 2 ft breaker bar (hopefully).

Thanks for the replies everyone. When I had gotten back out to my buddies place where the car was last night he had already been to Princess Auto and picked up a 500 ft/lbs impact gun. I couldn't believe the difference from lifting the car of the stands to vrrrp vrrrp two bolts just off using a tiny compressor.
