Exclamation Power Steering Noise

Guys I'm having this issue where I'm beginning to hear some really odd noises coming from my steering. The noise comes during idle turn or if I'm pulling away from a parking spot at a slow speed in 1st gear. The noise is that of a drooning sound. I can even feel it when I'm sitting idle turning my steering, it just doesn't sound or feel right. Checked my steering fluid, looked fine to me, the car also feels fine on the highway. Not sure if it matters but I have Hotchkis Sways front and rear, stiffest settings in the front. Let me know if you guys have any info before I decide to take it to the stealership, still under warranty.

Your PS pump is probably going. Had mine replaced in summer. Started the same , groaning at low speeds, to loud groaning at low speeds, to having no power steering at idle in a span of a week. There were no issues once I was up to speed, and if I blipped the throttle when not moving I had the power steering back. Infiniti replaced the pump under warranty.

Definitely sounds like a power steering pump man get it fixed before you mess up your power steering rack and pinion bc if that happens it's going to cost you a pretty penny to fix.

I have my apt tomorrow, hopefully this is all covered under warranty since I only have 34k miles.

Mine turned out to be the PS reservoir. That was replaced under warranty.

They said it wasn't allowing adequate flow of the fluid. It was a 1 day turnaround time.

Ok so here's the deal, I have also been experiencing a weird scraping noise (on top of the odd steering noises) coming from the front passenger side wheel when turning left ONLY while in low gear. I wasn't sure if this was related to the steering issue but upon describing it to the service guy, he immediately knew that this may be a power steering reservoir problem where a small batch of coupes had an issue when turning left at low speeds, it would for some reason cause air into the power steering lines or whatever. He said there was a service bulletin for it a while back. They took the car in and gave me a loaner.

I got a call a few hours later, none of the above was true on my car (I think), apparently my clutch slave cylinder is shot so they are replacing that under warranty. They have to drop the transmission obviously and order the part since 6-mt is very rare and parts for it as well in the New England area. I'm still not convinced if that's the issue with the scraping noise when I turn left as well as the power steering issues. Either way we'll see when I pick up the car Saturday. I will call again tomorrow to confirm whether the noises I was hearing and steering issues are part of the slave cylinder. The problem they found I feel doesn't seem to be the problem I was having, I don't know, maybe it is correlated to the steering? I don't know.

My loaner is a 2015 Q50 Premium with 2.5k miles
and...its Malbec Black!

Update

Car is all set, I won't have it till Saturday since I'm out of town but the service guy said that the there wasn't enough tension on the clutch while turning going around a corner causing the weird noise which apparently was my clutch. He said the noise is now gone, power steering reservoir was good so they didn't touch anything there. It's worth mentioning that I do have JSolo's special clutch spring so I'm not sure if that could have been a contributing factor perhaps? Probably not since many on here have it with zero issues. Anyways, we'll see how everything is over the weekend.

Glad to read that it all worked out Goonz! Thankfully the work was covered under warranty and wasn't as big of an issue.

Went to dealer today. They check her out and said a hard line on the bottom of the vehicle was leaky and the ps resevoir was low. They topped it off and will replace the line this weekend when parts arrive. The noise is down some but not quiet as the q50 i had on loan. Any advice as to what else to do. Will this act as my evidence if the rack ever goes out of warranty?

Also my dead pedal is corroding and they refused to warranty it because they dont know why it corroded. Does this sound acceptable?
