Rear brake jack position

I've had trouble with this before. Can someone tell me where I need to place the jack and jackstands for a rear brake job? Before when I attempted the wheels would drop down and I could not access some of the bolts. I saw somewhere to use the rear diff to jack it up. But where are the stands placed? Any photos or videos would be helpful.

I jack the car up under the diff then place jackstands at the pinch welds with a slitted hockey puck inbetween.

If you search the site there should be a number of threads about this topic.

I did search but didnt see any photos. What are the pinch welds? Are these the rails that you use for the front?

There's two jack placement pinch welds on each side of the car, one for changing a front tire and one for a rear tire. They're marked by two notches on either side of the jack point. Here's what one of them looks like

Ah, two separate rails. Which one is for rear? The one further away in the photo?

No, it's two jack points along each side rail, the one in the photo is for the drivers side rear, it's right in front of the back tire.

Okay, and if I jack it up on that point in the rear I would be able to access the bolts for the rear brakes?

Yes, you can access the caliper bolts by jacking there. What I would do is put a floor jack under the differential to jack it up, then lower it on the stands but keep the jack under a slight load, just further protection when you're applying torque to loosen/tighten the parts.
