will oem 18" wheels work on G37 Sport??

Can I switch the 18" oem wheels from the G37 journey to a G37 6 speed manual sport with 19" wheels??
I might want to go with the 50's instead of low, low profile 40's on the 19" wheels. Seems like the ride would be a little smoother with 50's on the front and back with the 18s. The 19" go 45 and 40 on the rear, and I was thinking about a little smoother ride with the 18s.

Will it be a perfect switch with no different calibration?
Thanks.

I don't believe so. You can switch to the OEM 18" sport from the sedan though.

Well, I would like to trade my 19" Sport wheels for 18" Sport wheels off the Sedan. I will be getting the Coupe. It is an simple switch , everything clears?

While the wheel swap would probably smooth out your ride a bit, I don't think it will completely address your concern. Don't forget that the Sport (should) have a different and sport tuned suspension that is stiffer than that found on the non-Sport cars. That will probably need to be addressed as well.

Query: Why get a sport if you don't want the sport elements? Is it because you want a 6MT? I only ask as it would be better for you to get something that suits your needs from the start instead of modifying lots of things to address them down the road. A Journey/base may be a better option for you.

I don't find the wheels to be too rough with the OEM 19s, myself. In fact, I find it is pretty smooth. Have you driven the car and confirmed that you cannot deal with the ride quality?

I have an 09x coupe, and the ride is pretty comfortable. Adding more rubber will probably soften the ride a bit. You could get 18s with something like GoodYear comfort tread tires , you could swap your shocks for journey ones to help smooth out the ride.

Depends if its worth the money to you.

Thank you for this comment. I have driven the sport with the 19s and yes, it was smooth, so maybe I can just stay with the 19s. It just sucks they cannot rotate them front to back because of the staggered setup!

If rotating is your priority, you can always get 2 of the fronts or rears from the classifieds and run the same size on all 4 corners. Or, you can swap to OEM M35/45 sports 19s from last gen. Those are 19x8 all around and looks great too.
