Question Staggered Wheels on 2012 G37xs Sedan

Howdy,

I have a 2012 G37xs Sedan and had a question about staggered wheels. Reading online it appears that it's not advisable to run staggered setup on AWD machines, but also came across comments that it would be OK as long as it is with in the rolling variance.

I used to own a 350Z Nismo and have the stock RAYS from that car. I just slapped them on my G but wanted to check if it is OK to do so. For reference following are the sizes of the tires/wheels

Wheels
18x9 (F)
19x10 (R

Tires
245-40-18 (F)
265-35-19 (R)

The consensus here is that as long as the overall diameter is within 3%, you are okay. With the sizes you provided, 2.25%, you're within that threshold.

On the contrary, here's an article at tirerack that explains possible drivetrain issues with staggered diameter.

Btw, my stock wheels were 18" (245-40-18) and not the standard 17's. So on that basis, I thought I was under 1%.

Thanks for the article, after reading that not sure I want to put them on. While researching on this topic came across some Mitsu EVO stories where the DIFF gave out because of staggered setup.

One of my front tires went flat and needed to buy a new tire. Since I had these in the basement, just slapped them on. Will go back to stock.

The 2.25% diameter difference is comparing your front 245-40-18 to your rear 265-35-19.
