Help! Winter tyre/rim fitting & sizes

Hi,

I recently got a 2008 G37S with 19" rims and high performance rubber... but I also got thrown in a second hand set of 17" infinti alloys (i think from a g35) with winter tyres fitted to them. The only thing is that all 4 winter rims are the same size, whereas on the rims currently fitted to my car the rear rims are wider than the front ones. Does this matter? Can I still use these narrower infiniti rims on the rear?

Thanks

BM

yes, you should be fine so long as the offsets are not dramatically different. Do you know the width and offsets of the wheels?

They are 215/55/R17?

Wondering whether R17 is big enough to go over the S brake setup too?

I'm not sure the fronts will clear the brakes. When I was shopping around for winter tires, according to some posts here and tirerack, 18" was the smallest that would clear.

It's easy enough to jack up a corner of the front and try fitting one wheel to see if it seats or not.
