17" to 19" Wheels/Tires, My Mileage went down.
Went from stock 17" OEM Wheels and tires, to a set of 19" Coupe Wheels and Michelin Super Sports for my 2009 G37 Sedan.
I noticed a little less performance, like it wasn't as light on it's feet as it used to be.
I also haven't run through a whole tank of Gas, but usually I would get 420 miles per tank, or always in the 400's.
Now I am on target to get 360 out of this tank with the 19" tires. I guess since the wheels are wider (in ther rear and likley a bit heavier than the 17's) and the tires are heavier, it takes more effort to turn them, thus a reduction in MPG efficiency.
Oh well, they look cool

im actually doing the exact same thing you are, my PSS are on their way so theyll be on by next wed. i compared the OEM weight of the eagle rsa's with the PSS, its interesting!
here are the specs for tire rack:
good years: 225/55R17 27 lbs.
PSS: 225/45ZR19 23 lbs
245/40ZR19 25 lbs.
and the weight of the coupe wheels:
19"x8.5". Weight: 26.5 lbs.
19"x9". Weight: 27.5 lbs.
i couldnt find the weights of the 17" wheels.. anyone know?

The Mileage is much lower, just filled up last night and drove 50 miles. I looked at How Many Miles I drove vs. what computer says I had left, and it was like 345. That is 50 miles less per tank.
The BIG THING I HATE, if that the car is not as FAST as before.
If I floor it (even from a roll 40-50-60) it doesn't take off near as fast as before. Again, it's still fast, but the reduction in torque and overall power of the car is definatlely less than with my 17's. I can't burn rubber (NOW, I KNOW these are Brand New sticky Tires, so that's part of it), but the car was so much faster FEELING before. Also, I had the 7 speed Tranny reprogram and THAT also made the car feel slower. Before the reprogram it was an untamed BEAST, after it was fast, but more refined and smooth.
Just my 2 Cents..............!

before the 7AT reflash, flooring it from a roll @ 40 should be slower due to the lag. for me, the car was always in 7th gear and it took too long for it to think and decide to downshift to the right gear when I give it gas @ 40mph. after the reflash, your car should be more responsive in the gear shifts, thus giving you more torque through quicker throttle response. but the larger wheels will effect your mpg and feel slower. for me, it feels more sluggish, or heavier.

UPDATE, Later that DAY.
OK, my last tank had stopStop N Go traffic mixed in there. Drove 115 miles on freeway today, showed 358 left and 100 driven, so 458!
I guess it doesn't make that much of a difference after all? I will report back at the end of the tank and realize different traffice situations will dictate different result.

Well, I come here for entertainment and a thread like this is providing that for me. With that said, the reason this thread is funny is because you find it odd that your car feels a bit slower (probably in your head, but that's here nor there) and claim less mpg when you knowingly increased the weight and diameter of your wheel setup, so I don't see why this is a surprise to you. In any matter, good day.
