Tanabe Sustec Pro S-OC coming today with Initial Impressions!

Finally goddammit!! I'll be installing the SPC front/rear camber kits also. I've got a set of impact sockets with electric impact wrench, assorted box wrenches, adjustable wrenches, locking pliers, a dremel with grinding bit, PB Blaster and other miscellaneous stuff. Anything I should watch out for when doing the install? Probably won't happen until next weekend...i'm on-call this week and won't chance being without a car.

On my last car, I had issues with the sway bar end links. I'll be taking my time and making sure I don't force anything that doesn't want to move...unless i have to.

I'll post pics when they come. No more monster truckin' for me!

Got the rear coilovers, camber kits and toe bolts installed. It took me about 4 hours. Now I just have to adjust the ride height in the rear before I stitch it all up. So is it correct that I use the spanner to loosen to top collar, then use the bottom collar to adjust up or down? This is my first set of coilovers so forgive the noob question.

Meh...paid someone to install them today. Imo Not worth the trouble, but I guess some people are into DIY these.

Btw...they're really nice.

lol. call me a glutton for punishment but I love DIYs. can you help me out on adjusting ride height in the rear? the spring is putting a lot of pressure on the lower collar and I don't want to take the wrench (which looks small) and start tugging away...

Unfortunately, I did not have anything to do with adjusting it. The shop I had it done at did it all. They did say, however, that these coils were very easy to adjust.

I'm sure you could find something on-line how to do it. Maybe from tanabe's website?

I found something regarding BC racing coilovers. It looks like they have a similar setup...It looks like it's kind of a pain because I have to install the wheels, lower it, measure the heights, then jack it back up, remove the wheels ,remove the bolt holding the spring basket, then adjust the collars. Rinse and repeat until happy. Sounds like a lot of work.

Unless someone else can help me out????

You should PM Black Betty, I know he has experience installing coils.

Got everything installed. just need to make some tweaks after a short test drive yesterday. There was some clunking sounds so I'm gonna go back under today and tighten everything up. Also need to adjust the height as it is slammed right now with massive negative camber haha. I'll post pics when done and a review after an alignment and I get some seat time with them.

Thanks Gville! I'm thinking the next big thing I'll do is exhaust. I'm just waiting to recoup some funds. I've got a wedding to pay for in a few months! I need to get a set of spacers for the front as they're a little tucked but that's minor. After that who knows? I haven't decided if I want to add anything to the body or not as there are a lot if steeper driveways around the city here.
