I do think there is some bias to the KW3 but with good reason....the coils are top notch. I just got my G 6moths ago and have yet to lower it because I want to make sure I make the right choice. One day I wake up thinking Tein Flex, the next KW3, the next KW1, and the next day something different. I constantly find myself thinking Il spend about 2k on my car regardless (i.e. KW1 + front lip OR just KW3).

I have yet to fully convince myself that KW3 are overkill for a DD but at the same time I think even if you dont track your car, the KW3 coils will add to the overall enjoyment of the car. For instance, if on certain weekends you want to adjust the settings and test them out whether it be for spirited driving or to enable a certain tire/rim set up.

As a side note I do tend to succomb to purchasing quality products no matter the item( clothing, shoes,etc.). The money spent on the KW3, from what I gather, has a great return on investment.

Sit down and list the pros cons of the different coils THEN try to do some ROI analysis for the future. I am big advocate of cost benefit analysis.----Personally, I hope to keep my car for 5 years and enjoy every minute driving it. 2k investment NOW for 5 years~~~~ (5yrs)*(365days) = 1825 days, so 2k for 5 years @ ~$1.09/day to enjoy the KW3 coilovers. As my DD...hell yea I would think that for $1.09/day to enjoy an incredible ride is worth it.

DD--overcourse daily driver....dont you want to enjoy the ride?--yes, of course...do we initally want to spend the whopping 2k on our cars?no-to many, thats a lot BUT...the long term benefits IMHO outweigh the intial investment of 2k...

Pain (dropping 2k from the bank account) is only temporary....

Be smart.Budget.Save.....I sacraficed not going out and partying for 3 weeks....saved enough to buy the midnight back grille ($320)....rather than plasti dipping or some cheap stuff. The sacrafice....saving....then buying....I feel a much greater appreciation for my purchase.

Hope this helps....I think I just convinced myself to buy KW3 after rereading my own thread..haha.

Gville..I agree with what you are saying and good stuff on the analysis break down, but $2K is not chump change, least for me anyway. I understand you want to do it right the first time, as do I, but if you won't be tracking your car often, purchasing the KW V3's (IMHO) are a bit extreme. $2K can set me back personally on other purchases I would like to make as well.

I bought the midnight grille too for ($276) because I too do not cheap out on quality parts (clothes, electronics, etc as well), but what makes the KW V3's so much better than every other coilover like Stance GR+, etc?

I DO NOT want springs, but just want to lower the car and enjoy a comfortable ride with some adjustability capabilities. Keep in mind, it's not just $2k on the coils....you will also need camber kits for the rear and possibly the front, so add that your budget my man.

I might consider these coils, but man is that a lot of money for somebody who might never have their car grace a track. Damn this is killing my head..

I need to read up on the Stance coils a little more but KW1 doesnt seem like a terrible option....much more could be said ...but we are slightly going in circles haha. cant wait for this mod to be over with

KW V1's do not seem like a bad option. We just won't get damping adjustability if that means anything to you. I also looked into these as well...I just feel if I bought the V1's I am going the cheap route..lol. Even though those coils are far from cheap. It's like buying a non S G37 (v1) and not the sport (v3). I'll figure it out, but better believe I will weigh the pros and cons before dropping $2K.

That's an awesome offer NoirG. If I were near you, I'd take you up on that offer.

If you haven't heard yet Koni jut released their adjustable shock/struts for the G as well. What this means is that you can buy a qaulity spring with the drop you want (like Swift) and get the Koni's for the adjustability of the damper. How often will you be adjusting your height? Probably only once if you get coilovers. Get your drop without messing around and fine tune your damping and you're set.

The vehicle is an executive sport luxury coupe and weighs a ton.

I too almost pulled the trigger on KWs simply because of heresay and then I did heavy research into the Tein Flex which I am leaning toward....but 2k+install....steep. (pay to play i guess)
keep looking and looking... got my Tein Flex (new btw) for $1700 including install... gotta keep looking... usually they go for $2000 give or take, price alone, maybe a little higher, but you can def find some with a killer deal... i couldnt pass up on them, had a vendor price match on this crazy deal... plus i had recently had Tein coils on my previous car, so i knew what to expect from their coils... quality my man... gotta pay to play...

Tein Flex for the win... you wont be dissapointed... 16 settings... i can feel a difference at every click when riding... just gotta find the setting that you will enjoy and suit you...

Plus, only cause Pcasey thought they were overkill, doesnt mean they are over kill for everyone... def not over kill for me... i enjoy a nice ride and stiff ride... on the middle setting, it feels like an aggressive stock... you can see and feel the quality on the coils behind the product even on a stiffer setting...

Tein Flex isnt a track suspension btw... its an aggressive street suspension that will allow for some track... ive seen lower quality coils bust in action... like megan racing and tanabe... there is a reason why some coils are priced cheap and some arent... you just cant compare $1000 coils to $2000 coils...

Flex allows for corner balancing as well which isnt for tracking purposes only, its so that the car also sits proper... going over uneven roads, corners, and dips... day and night difference... do research, dont just follow the crowd...

yeah, going this route isnt the best route... ive done this before and had to completly change my suspension all over again on my previous car... ended going with coils since i had to replace the shocks twice under warranty... do it right the first time... seperate shocks and seperate springs arent as compatible to each other hence the life of the shock isnt going to last you long... seperate shocks are made to suit oem spring rates... coils... full shock and spring compatibility is the way to go... thats why they come together...

i speak from experience... thats why i guess ive become a suspension type of guy... or forced to i should say, for the better of course... hehe

Well I am comparing.... I had Tein Flex with EDFC and now I have Stance......I like the Stance better......

The only way to compare them is by having them and realizing what you like best. Of course people are going to have their opinons, I have heard of Tein coils busting before as well on other cars. There was someone selling their busted up set a little bit ago on driver. I loved my Teins, but when I was offered a pair of Stance coils at a great price because a friend was deploying I jumped on it. I am very glad I did, I have had no issues so far and the ride at middle setting is perfect! If I had to do all over again I would have bought Stance right away. Again it is my opinion, each person has their own suspension needs. Yes I just compared 1200 Stance coils to 1800+ Tein coils...
