Cutting stock springs

Here's my dilemma,

I installed the Eibach lowering springs this weekend and although the new stance looks awesome the ride quality is not good. It's very stiff now... and when passengers are in the car they actually comment how rough the ride is and when I now go some speed bumps my exhaust scrapes. It's a trade off I cannot accept so I am thinking my only option is to go back to my original springs?

Here's the question, would it be "ghetto" to cut off say 1/2- 3/4's of an inch from the stock springs? If so, can anyone recommend a different spring that lowers the car about an inch but is not so harsh and will let me have passengers in the car?

FYI- the lowering springs are the only thing done to the car, I'm on stock rims
and tires.

Thanks

Eibach is the best you can get. No one has tried cutting the stock springs and I can almost be sure your ride quality will suffer even worse than any aftermarket springs. I would say don't do it.

Yes, if your going to cut springs, get a Honda...

I had tanabes nf210, they drop the car about a inch and the spring is about 5% stiffer then stock.

No, don't cut your springs. If the ride with the pro-kit is too rough for you consider looking into swapping your springs with the 370z springs. That's what i did. Eibach was just to rough for me. With the 370z springs you get a very mild drop, about 0.7" all the way around, and the ride is really nice and smooth. You can pick up a set for about $50-$75 used on 370z forums.

I guess I can try to tanabes springs, I just don't want to switch the springs and get the same result? Does anyone know how much stiffer the Eibach's are compared to the stock springs? Anyone have experiences with both the Eibach's and Tanabes springs and can comment on the difference?

Yeah, bad idea cutting springs and such. You'll wish you hadn't.

Anyone know if the G37 coupe's springs are an option? I'd have to think they are close to the same as the 370's? Has anyone tried putting the coupes springs in their sedan?

Just wondering... why would cutting the oem sport springs such a bad idea?

How will the ride quality suffer if it was the same spring but just shorter?

if eibachs are too rough for you, seems like you should just leave your ride height stock.

Get swift or tanabe , by cutting the springs you will make them shorter which means more pressure on coils , soon later they will damage.

Actually, Swift is the best you can get.

Don't cut. Just sell them and go back to stock, or go Swift.
