18" Sport Edition SE-14 for G37S?

I'm considering downsizing to 18" for winter but I know some 18" won't clear the sport brakes. I love SE-14 which looks almost identical to stock 09 g37s coupe rims. So I'm wondering if they would fit on g37s. For tires, I'm thinking Michelin X-Ice Xi2 225/50/18. Also, would using winter tires on stock rims be a hassle? Other suggestions/photos are welcome!

The A7 and F10's are your best bet from Sport Edition. You can check Tirerack.com's winter wheel selection for other 18s that fit your S.

Best suggestion is to search.

And certain 18" wheels will fit. It's not a question of inner diameter, but more so offset and spoke design.

I have a set of these from discount tire that just barely fit.. ~3/16" or so gap at the closest point between the spokes and calipers. With these particular wheels, an offset of say 45mm would be perfect.

Unfortunately that wheel is not an option for the sport pack car. Doesn't have enough brake clearance in this case. We do have the S-Edition A7 which is pretty close as well. Tire size looks perfectly fine.

Call me direct when ready!

Neal, what is the minimum preferred clearance at the closest point to the calipers (spoke to caliper distance)?

We typically like to see at least 3-4mm of clearance between your wheels and the brakes on the vehicle.

I've got the F10's for snow wheels and they fit well. There is a small clearance from the spoke to the caliper...I'd say 3-4mm like Neal stated. Looks good too.

Thanks! I'm now looking at Enkei EKM3. Would you recommend width of 7.5" or 8"? I'm planning to get 225/50/18 tires so I guess going with 7.5 would save some weight? Also, I can't decide between X-ice and Blizzak This is my first winter wheels so help me out here

With the wheels, it doesn't matter what size you go with (7.5" vs 8"). With the tire though, the thinner the better.

Also I just drove over our first snowfall this year (a little over an inch) and I have the Blizzaks and they worked great. IMO both bridgestone and michelin are overpriced but there aren't many options out there for 18" snow tires but the lesser of two evils are the blizzaks. I can't vouch for the X-Ice as I've never driven them but after this morning, I'm confident the Blizzaks will do well for the rest of this winter season (for me).

Having used dices ,blizzaks and winter sports 3ds, the x ices had the slight edge. In 225/50/18 ,price isn't too bad

The Blizzak works best in deeper snow and harsher ice conditions, the Michelin handles better on the plowed roads and may last a tad longer. Still a good tire for ice/snow, but those are the main differences.
