Unhappy NEED HELP!! Volk GT-30s

As you may or may not know, I have GT30s on my ride. When I purchased them I also purchased 4 new TPMS sensors so I would not have any annoying lights on the dash. Well guess what, ever since I've had the wheels put on, I've always had issues with the light on the dash. After many trips to the dealer, they say they can not get them to work with these rims because of the location of the sensors vs. the factory location. This doesnt make sense to me, but I can not fight it unless I find out whether someone else that has these rims does have TPMS on them that work. So please chime in if you can help. Thank you!

Was your Viper remote start installed around the same time as when you put on the GT30s?

I have GT30's on a 2010 1/2 G and my TPMS is fully operational. What they're telling you makes absolutely no sense.

I've never had issues with TPMS on GT-30s. Sorry if I'm stating the obvious, but are your tires properly inflated?

Happened to me but I was sold the wrong sensors. Did you confirm you got the right sensors to match your car? Otherwise they should work. I have even heard of people installing thm in their spare or even a pressurized pipe and making it work IF they are the right sensors.

The dealer stated that the 2010+ have a better TPMS system, with a wider range. the 2008-2009 have a weaker range, and the small distance variation between factory rim and GT30 is enough to throw it off. Weird thing is that it worked for a few weeks then stopped.

So if anyone has an 08 or 09 with GT30s and tpms working, then tell me!

Iunno man. I think the TPMS transceiver is under the dash (someone correct me if I'm wrong). If that is the case, then the TPMS sensor locations on the GT30's would make them closer to the transceiver (inside barrel vs. outside barrel)...

Which bypass box are you using for your remote start? There are known issues with remote start and TPMS light.

Umm no, I had the rims put on a few months before that, and has the same issue before the remote start. I know what youre talking about tho, with the bypass module and tpms sensor. Did you have an issue with the bypass and your tpms?

edit: You know what, I dont know if he did do the re-programming to erase the DTC. Good call!

I have the xpresskit DBALL bypass and I've had problems with the TPMS light. Every once in a while, using the remote start will trigger the TPMS light and cause it to stay on. The remote start triggers error codes in the BCM that only Consult III could read and reset. However, they released a new firmware and wiring and I'm waiting to see if it has fixed the problem.

Tell me about your TPMS light. Does it come on and stay on? Or does it flash and then become steady?

I am using the OL-MDB-ALL by OmegaLink.

Just found this:

Claim Prevention: Blinking TPMS Light
DTC-C1734 ***The Module can erase this DTC.***

1- Update the module to the current Firmware.
2- Unplug the vehicle battery for 30 seconds.
3- Reconnect the vehicle battery.
4- Program the module to the vehicle.

Once the module is programmed to the vehicle.
5- With the vehicle ignition ON, Press and hold programming button for 5 seconds, LED will blink green 9 times.
6- Release the programming button.
7- Cycle the vehicle ignition to the OFF position.

The DTC is erased.

*** IMPORTANT ***

The installer must verify few install connections to ensure the remote starter isn't causing the DTC.

1- Make sure the negative ignition is energized as a negative ignition. A Ground when running (-) status is NOT a second ignition. The vehicle negative ignition MUST be perfectly synchronized with the vehicle positive ignition.
2- Make sure the negative ignition is NOT powered from the ADS module, the negative ignition MUST be powered from the same module providing the positive ignition (the remote starter).
3- Make sure both accessory wires are dropping power during crank. An accessory power should always turn OFF during the crank sequence.

These verifications will confirm remote starter install integrity.

If a doubt persist on the origin of the TPMS code a search can be done through Google. A lot of driver's experiences are shared on public forum regarding this code wetter a remote starter is or isn't present in the vehicle. The following result page can be used as a search starting point: tpms light nissan altima - Google Search

Mine flashes in the beginning, then stays on. I am going to update my bypass today to the new firmware and see what happens.

I had the xpresskit at first and kept getting a security/key light on when I remote started, so I pulled that kit off and put the omega. No issues, minus this possible TPMS related light now.

When the TPMS flashes and then stays on, it usually means that there is a trouble code. Try resetting it using the instructions.

Does Omegalink integrate with the factory alarm? Does it allow you to arm and disarm using the door handle buttons?

I put stock tpms into my gt30's and had no issues at all. Unlike other 2 piece wheels, Volk made a seperate hole in the back of these wheels specifically for tpms sensors to go into. either a tpms sensor is bad or they didnt program correctly. dealers love to blame aftermarket equipment when they cant figure something out

I have an 08 coupe and had GT30's put on and just swapped the factory sensors, no problems. Actually caught a nail and the sensor worked! And what beerme986 said, if the dealer can't figure it out they will always blame aftermarket! I went to a reputable shop for all my aftermarket wheel, suspension, and alignment work...you almost have to unless you're an expert yourself or you know a tech in the dealership that knows aftermarket stuff! Good Luck!
