swaybar question

I did a search and read a bunch of threads on swaybars, but didn't really get any good answers regarding noise/creak.

Those of you with swaybars, do you experience any creaking or noise after time? Even if you properly lubed it when installing? I remember having some noise after a while with my Neuspeed swaybar on my Audi a while back.

thx.

I have the Hotchkis sway set installed and have had no issues; no noise, no creaking. Only an awesome drive.

There's no noise whatsoever unless you completely leave out the bushings grease. If you install them properly then you shouldn't ever get creaking

Thanks guys...also, there has been debate about whether the ride is harsher or stiffer when just cruising down the road (not on corners, obviously) in all the other threads. I'm on stock suspension with 19s from the coupe. Will I notice a significantly stiffer or harsher ride going over bumps or road imperfections? you know, that unstable, jarring feeling?

oh, and i'm sure it is recommended to do both front and rear. but what are the effects of doing only the rear? any negatives? just curious.

thx in advance.

You're making the car stiffer... you are bound to hear some noises. Did you check bushings/endlinks/etc?

Very negligible effect on harshness of ride quality I would say. If you do only the rear, depending on how stiff you set it, you might introduce more oversteer. It's best if you can do both front and rear to keep a good balance on stiffness (ie, if you set the rear stiff, you can reduce the effects of oversteer by setting a stiffer front or vice versa).

False. The added stiffness and any noises are not related at all. The noises come from metal on metal ie bushings that aren't properly greased.
