Help --> Rear Bumper bracket issue
Hey guys,
anyone with experience being slammed on springs and with the rear bumper bracket?
What happens if you cut the bumper bracket completely off/flush? I know the one edge of the lower piece may be a bit mobile but can this be secured with a wide 3M type tape? easily cut and reapplied if the rear bumper ever had to come off.
Wondering if anyone has tried this before.
Thanks for advice

I cut the fabric and grinded the bracket down until where the told was hanging on for dear life. with 275's in the rears I still rubbed everywhere!!! Now with 255's i'm cool, but I think I will also be removing it completely so I can run the wider tires again.

I have this same exact issue with the rear bumper bracket! It rubs on the occasional bump and it rubs on every bump if I have passengers sitting in the back. It's SO annoying.
I'm running 275 wide tires with coilovers.
Would there be any issues with corner portion of the bumper hanging or flapping around if I were to cut it off completely?

very true! mines completely shaved off and guess what? a aftermarket bumper made in fiberglass will have nothing to support due to the shaved bumper bracket. so for the people that's about to do this think twice if you're ever changing bumpers or not. double side tape will not work or hold the fiberglass bumper.
