how to turn off tpms warning light?

I HAD THIS ISSUE RESOLVED... TALK TO YOUR DEALER TO CONFIRM...
When I bought my G it had a wheel that was clearly repainted, touched up whatever.
I took it to the dealer, and they swapped it out with a new one... My TPMS light came
on. So I measured each tired to ensure correct Tire Pressure. Had nothing to do with that!!!!
Dealer told me they had to recalibrate the system because, each of those TPMS units
have a barcode on them that matches the car, and if you do not reset that in the ECU
the light will NEVER go off... I've not had the TPMS light on my car since...

I'm pretty sure that's not true. In fact, it sounds made up.

Does it monitor that it is actually on each side of the car or just simply that the pressure is low? If its the latter then as long as you spare had the proper pressure then they would think that everything is fine.

I can tel you without question that this iis 100% false, your dealer is a liar. I know this because I broke one of my original monitors when I had a flat. I bought a new one online. I put it in myself. I went through the DIY reset procedure. The light went off and has never returned. You do NOT need to take it to a dealership to reset anything in the ECU. Your dealer just wants you to come back in for service.

I don't know if the sensors will trigger a light if the pressure is too high, but the spare takes 65 psi I think. Also, don't they have to be in position in the wheel areas to send the signal to the car? How would the car recognize them if they are in the trunk? Whoever said this, did they confirm that this actually works or is it just speculation? Because if that's true, you could just put them inside anything that's got 35 psi of pressure in it and keep them anywhere inside the car to make the light go off.

I've heard some of the domestic guys putting together either PVC or metal pipe together with a valve stem, toss the sensors in the pipe and pressurize it to 30psi. Drop it in the trunk and be done with the light.

can someone please explain how the tpms works?
I have a 2011 g37s coupe
based on some reading through the forums, it seems as if any changes in the wheels/tires will cause the tpms light to go on permanently and would require a dealership to reset for a significant amount of money.
Would this mean that every single time my tire pressures are low and i refill with air to the right psi then i would have to get the light reset by the dealer? please tell me no because this seems ridiculous to me. thanks
sorry if this is a stupid question to many of you but i just got my car and im trying to learn everything about it

actually a buddy of mine has a full size spare with a tpms in it. It actually works by not setting off the (!) symbol. V35 sedan though, not sure if it works with our cars.

Putting the TPMS sensors within a pressurized container is very common at this Lexus forum I used to frequent.

All we need now is for someone to do this with one of our cars; if it works, you can make the light go off. This could be a reasonable way to make the light go off...

Is there a downside to not having the TPMS (aside from the light being on)? I had read on some other forum that it messed up the stability control. Aside from the light being annoying, and the need to pay close attention to tire pressure, does the absense of TMPS monitors in a new set of tires/rims change performance at all?
