new tires, rims, jittery ride
Yeah, I don't know what's up; I bought a set of the 18" 2008 sport sedan wheels, and a set of Potenza RE960AS - supposedly great A/W tires. I went through some issues with the install, and had them re-balanced and aligned at an infiniti place after the initial install shop bungled the job.
Anyway, the ride is a bit bouncy and a little jittery. Especially over 70. I feel as if I can feel every little undulation in the road, giving the car a sort of jittery bouncing while going down the highway when previously it was a pretty smooth ride, even up in 100's. I doesn't feel like a balance issue, I'm almost 100% sure it is not balance-related, the typical out-of-balance feel is not there, and nothing from the steering wheel is telling me they are out of balance, if you know what I mean.
Is this normal, and due to the lower sidwalls (especially the rears at 45s)? Is it typical for lower sidewalls or certain tires to give you a bouncier or rougher ride? These tires were supposed to be a lot better and smoother than the OEM RS-As, those were the 17" stockers with a 55 sidewall. COuld one or more of the wheels be out of round? Supposedly they are not - the Hunter force machine would have told the tech if a wheel was out of round, I believe.

the sport 18s have stiffer side walls so you'll feel more imperfections from the road. The step change won't be smoother but they should feel tighter.
this is gonna be hard to diagnose without being in the car... I would imagine you're just getting used to the stiffer tires/larger wheel combination on an unfortunately soft suspension... the S setup is very different and will probably feel the change left. a G37 non S would benefit greatly from a suspension upgrade. to even simply the S setup.
either that or are they aware those are 18s? they might've overinflated them... lol
