ok i found tires, but will my car ride rough because of the wider tire?

my stock bridgestones only lasted me 17k miles so i wanted same performance with better tread rating and wider tire to make car look better and i want to go with these

245/45 in front, 275/35 in back, will the ride be rougher because the tire being smaller on the rear?

Continental ExtremeContact DW

Continental ExtremeContact DW

i know these will also do better in the snow/winter, but i dont want a rough ride, if so i can just go with the 255/40 in the rear no?

y would u go with that size tire in the front. That's way too tall. You need a 245/40/19. There's way too much of a difference there from front to back.

Look again. Tire rack has the DW's in 245/40/19 and 275/35/19.

I have priced then many times and is probably what I will end up getting when the RE050's die.

Check the rotations per mile specs.
I believe our Bridgestones are 77.

I'm running the DWS tires as we speak. I've had them now for about 700 miles. Same sizes that you're looking at too.

All I can say is that these tires are the quietest I've ever felt out of my last 4 sets AND the traction in the dry and wet is as good as everyone is raving about. I'm expecting the same results in the snow.

If you're going to drive in snow, I don't think these tires are rated for the snow so I would get the DWS version. Honestly, you can't go wrong with this setup and no... your ride won't be rough.

ok so if i get the 245/40/19 and 275/35/19, i am dropping from a 45 to a 40 in the front and a 40 to a 35 in the back.....but im not gonna have a less smooth or rough drive from the stock tires correct?

cuz if so ill just do stock sizes in the front and 255/40 in the back.......

No you won't the second number doesn't determine how fat the tire will be it's just the aspect ratio of the width. So the new tire sizes u want to go with have the same thickness of sidewall as the stock tire sizes. So no your ride will not be rougher.

good to know it wont be rougher, so all im really doing is paying a little extra for the car to look a little better (wider tire) and im getting double the treadlife of the stocks hopefully

WAYY more than double.

Stock: 140 rating
DWS: 540 rating

Are you set on the DW's or the DWS's? I didn't see an answer on if you live in a snow area or not.

ah, I'm talking about the DWS version. I live in Chicago (similar weather to Jersey) and love driving in the snow so long as I have a stable setup.

The DWS has a 540... my bad.

only thing that makes me nervous is a lot of people saying the steering response might suck with these tires, and i should maybe consider the pole positions from bridgestone

demarco,
Those tires(DW) are summer only tires. Even if there is no snow on the ground they will be bad since the rubber used gets hard in cold temperatures. You should not use them in the winter. Either get snow tires for winter only or use all seasons like the DWS all year round. Use this wheel/tire calc to compare sizes: Custom rims, wheel tire packages for your ride - RIMSnTIRES.com
