Why would smaller tires make the rim stick out less?
It's not smaller tires. It's just a different offset that won't make them stick out so that I could run slightly wider tire sizes. I'm just not a huge fan of my lip sticking out that much.
They all have same concaveness however that's y we choose to run low offsets so you see it more With the rim popping out or sitting flush w fender ! My current offsets are like 3mm outside fender but looks more flush than sticking out. If you go 285 w +45 then it's gonna sit inward and you will only see concave from side views not rear ! I like when car is rolling and you see the rears deep barrels from a distance.
If you look at my pics on the first Page you will see my rear actually sits flush w front at +23 245/30/20 and +30 w 275/30/20 tire. In the pics my offsets where at 23/30 that's cause we did 15mm spacers on a 38/25 offset for it to sit perfect . That's another option for you , you can choose the 38/45 and stay w 245/35 and 275/30 and add 15mm spacers i'n front and rear and it will sit exactly like my car on the first page.
It doesn't really, but usually the tires are what rub not the wheels, so stretching the tires a bit makes them very thin at the barrel edges thus reducing the rubbing, If the wheel barrel is what's rubbing though, then you need to camber even more.
