Wheel spacers

I've read here that many of you G37 owners have put spacers on your car for a better looking wheel stance. Has anyone heard about any possible damage that can be caused by installing these on your car down the road. I seem to remember reading something a long time ago about some damage that can be caused by them. I sure hope I'm wrong, but I would like to know all the pros and cons of doing any upgrade no matter how minor it may be.

Everyone "knows a guy" who has a spacer horror story but I have never met this guy or seen and posts about real problems. Like stoof I have run spacers for 7 years on my last 2 cars with zero problems.

what kind of spacers do you guys install? H&R for example have two different types on the stillen website
DRS® Series
DRS Series spacers fit between the wheel and hub, and require exchanging the existing wheel studs for longer ones (studs are included).

DRM® Series
DRM Series spacers bolt to the hub with existing wheel studs and special nuts (included). Wheel is bolted to new DRM wheel studs.

which is more safe? the one that bolts over the existing studs? or the one that has replacements studs?

IMO get Ichiba V2 hubcentric spacers with built in studs.

I have both project kics and Ichiba spacers on my car and i don't like the design of the project kics. I ended up bending the socket they came with due to their strange design.

i agree that the nut's are kinda weird and can break very easily. just gotta be very careful with that. but the other parts are top notch imo.

Stud replacement is better but I rarely here issues with bolt on's. Just get them tight and check them every so often.

I'm being running 15mm H&R DRM for more than 35k miles trouble free on OEM wheels. As a mater of fact I have both models, first bought the DRS which are obviously less prone to cause problems since the replacement studs are as safe or better than originals studs. On the other hand DRM's are more expensive and requires to be bolted on, which implies a periodical tightening. I ended up installing the DRM's just for simplicity and bite the tightening thing if any. BTW the DRS's are new in the box for sale.

Nothing wrong with running spacers.

Stay away from Ichiba V1's though, the V2's are much stronger.
